I thank Mom and Dad for playing this type of music when I was growing up and making me a fan to this day!! The crap they call county music today is unbearable
Same here,.. My mom and dad raised me up on country music. Dolly Parton Waylon Jennings Johnny Cash hee Haw show Hank Williams senior. I grew up loving country music, so glad my mom and dad raised me. Poplar bluff was one of my favorite songs.
First recorded by the Wilburn Brothers in 1963. This particular version was not released for 10 years after it was recorded. RCA and Chit. Oh well just listen to the harmony of these great singers. True Country Music talent. From the pens of Johnny Russell and Voni Morrison. Words from my late Shannon Burns' notes. God bless and miss her wit and great input at YT.
MAKING PLANS You say tomorrow you're going It's so hard for me to believe I'm making plans for the heartaches 'Cause you're making plans to leave The tears for me will be falling Like a tree shedding its leaves I'm making plans for the tear drops 'Cause you're making plans to leave -You're making plans to forget me -I'm making plans to miss you -I'm getting ready to grieve I'm making plans to be lonesome 'Cause you're making plans to leave 'Cause you're making plans to leave...
The duet is hard to beat. True some are as good but very few were or are better. The purity of their music as being country is not something anyone could really dispute. This is as pure a country song as anyone will ever hear and done as well as it can be done.
My dad used to get a little tipsy on the weekend and would play this on our record player over and over. I can appreciate this song so much more now than way back then.
Portwagner and Dolly..Will never miss Heaven this voice the blending is so touching..live long Dolly..and may God's grace meet portwagner..wherever is resting..I love uu all
I thank my elder brother who played these great songs over the cassette player when I was a child... They bring memories of my childhood I love them to the last note.....
@@ronaldt491 I read that the song was recorded in '68, but overdubbed in the studio in '79 to "update" the sound. It's sad that this song was only released due to Porter suing Dolly, but it is a beautiful tune. It would've been a fitting final single release for them together before they split up to begin with.
Heavens Bells are ringing!!!! Listen Up Sweetie,I'm not ever giving up on you!!!! You are engraved into my 💓. Branded by God's own hand....I believe that!!! Soulmates!!! You told me that yourself!!! And,I believe you love me too. I know you don't express yourself ,as well,or as often as I do. I really have roots that go deep concerning you. You see I never expected any of this!!! But,God has a real sense of humor. He brought us together....then set us free to mess it up..and fix it over and over again. We both know what's happening between us. There's no more reason to deny it. Stop doing that!!! Stop trying to convince yourself to let me go. You know you don't want to. I know I don't want to lose you either. We aren't getting younger here. However, you look forty again here lately..so PROUD of you!!!!
