Yes!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤ please can you do a Christmas sent! I’m running out right now to pick up that I don’t have on hand 💚 THANK YOU for your patience and detailed instructions 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💕
Spicy potpourri, yes! I once saved the petals from a dozen yellow roses, from a florist. They had no odor but the color was sublime. After air drying them I put them in a sealed jar and promptly forgot them. A year or so later I opened the jar and a strong rose scent rose up( no pun intended). I am still amazed that there was scent in the petals! Has anyone else experienced this? Next time I am gifted florist roses I will try this again.
Oh, yes! Please do another potpourri video. I just adore the little tap, tap, tap of your spoons on the container as you finish. It's so soothing. Your dried flowers are lovely and I covet your jar collection. I highly recommend The San Francisco Herb Company for both large and small herbs and spices. Their prices are reasonable and their products are wonderful.
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow nice. I just want to ask you about music from video about antique chocolate molds when had making that chocolate in molds
Your ingredients are so lovely along with your filled jars and homemade tags. Your journals are also a work of art. Very clever and talented. Nice work.
So beautifully and interestingly presented Jeri…thank you. That notebook is a gem. I would like the name of the series about the monk. His herbarium sounds very interesting. You are truly surrounded by your own little piece of heaven right there and your ability to create something special, is such a blessing for us the viewers to enjoy. Take care.🤗🌹🌹🌹
Jeri, I would love to see another session of you making potpourri! I have a green house that is my playhouse and I have been wanting to make some potpourri from the flowers I’ve dried. Thank you for the great instructions! 🥀🌼🥀 Trenda
What wonderful memories this video brought back to me. Once upon a time i had a sweet little shop, Windy Corner herbs & flowers, filled with my homemade potpourris and all the fixings for customers to make their own. Thank you for sharing your lovely potpourri ideas.
Making those mixtures was so great hope you make more, would love more videos on that, that room is so gorgeous cant get enough of it ,love it, ,,, warm wishes from LILLE MARIE
Jeri, you have so many special gifts, but the one I appreciate the very most is the lovely way you weave history throughout all you do. You are such an amazing and inspirational woman. Thank you for bringing us along as you create your magic.
Hi Jeri, definately beautiful, I've never thought of making Potpourri before. What a great way to take the summer garden into winter with you! Thank you for sharing your knowledge x
First time I ever remember learning anything about potpourri was 1979 when I went into a drugstore and they were selling Claire Burke potpourri. It was an old fashioned rose fragrance (not their "Original" but one they discontinued many years back and I cannot remember the name of it or even find any history of it) which reminded me of my grandmothers, who were both gardeners who loved growing flowers. Later I became obsessed with the idea of collecting rose petals to make my own potpourri for my home, which I did in the early 1980s. Lots of fun! You make it look like such fun still. I've been saving some petals. Maybe now is the time to try it again!! Thank you for the inspiration and the beautiful video! ...Oh, and I too haven't succeeded in growing mignonette yet, but I am going to try again.
Your videos are very peaceful and lovely i would so enjoy more spicy blends and maybe Christmas blends, thank you Jeri this was so calming and relaxing i also love mixing Potpourri, a true treasure from days gone by ,love is the key, always 💞 🌹🌼🌲💐
I would love to try to figure out how to make an herbal recipe scrapbook like yours ! It’s so lovely!! I know you bought yours years ago , but you are so creative , Maybe you could give us some pointers during another DIY ! 😊
Джери, большое спасибо за Ваши видео. Всегда смотрю их с большим удовольствием. Вы очаровательная женщина, Вы одна из любимых моих блогеров. Храни Вас Господь. С большим уважением к Вам Наталия. О. Из России
I just love all love all of your videos, Jeri! I used to make potpourri in the late 80s and 90s to sell at craft fairs. Now I want to make some again! Could you possibly do a YT about that beautiful garden journal? I've gotten into junk journaling lately and I love your style!
Yes and no. Dry the ones with fragrance and those that keep some good color. Try to avoid the petals that will just turn brown. You'll want to experiment with different flowers.
I absolutely love to watch your videos. I thoroughly enjoy hearing and learning about the history you provide during your videos. The way you encompass beauty, knowledge and creativity into your content showcases how truly talented you are. The attention you put in to the details and all of the hardwork to make these exceptional videos is definitely appreciated.
Hello Jerri! With the holidays coming up would you do a video on victorian Thanksgiving/ Christmas? I have rewatched your Victorian tree decorating video so many times for ideas in my own home. I love the atmosphere you create ❤
Jeri , this is another beautiful video ! Thank you for inspiring us to add more beauty to our own little corner of the world! I’m excited that you’re going to build a bee hive ! I’m so interested in starting bees 🐝. A little intimidated ( ok , a lot ) , so it will be amazing to learn as I watch you ! What type of dahlia is your sweet little yellow one? I’d also love to see more videos like this , with creative things to do with our garden treasures !! 😊
The little yellow dahlia came out of a seed packet from Outside Pride, but the blooms look nothing like the ones on the seed packet. They were supposed to be pom poms...on of them were.
How lovely and informative. So excited to try this. I've ordered a recipe book off Amazon and written your recipes down. Made notes and list from your video. Will gather my purchase supplies this winter season and then next flower season I will forage to my hearts content. Thank you so much for sharing this content. Throughly enjoyed this video. 😊 💜🥀
🌻Another lovely video, Jeri. Could you please repeat the name of the series about the 12th Century Monk? It sounds fun! I can imagine the roses and all the flowers smell so beautiful. Thank you for all the lovely moments you share 🍁🧡🍂🧡🍁🧡🍂🧡
Lovely video! Thanks so much. So many great ideas. I could almost smell the scents from here. I ‘ll start collecting flowers and herbs today for drying. And, yes to more potpourri videos please.
A friend once sent me yarrow in a cardboard box during hot weather. When I opened the box, the scent transported me to a hay meadow in my memory. Such a gift!
Oooh I love this. I shared your channel with my coworkers today. I enjoy your videos. They are so beautiful they must be a lot of work! I watched to relax after work. Books ordred and…now to find Cadfel to watch. I appreciate your channel.
Your artist’s eye, the rosemary lavender mix was so beautiful. I thoroughly enjoyed this video! A Christmas scent would be wonderful. Can you add dried citrus to the mixes? Can't wait for another video. Thank you!
Lovely! Welcome home, Jayne! Would love to hear your impressions from your fact finding mission to Austria. Glad you’re home, safe and sound. Would you share your planting technique for sweet Annie please? I long for a dense bed but haven’t been successful and would love to hear your process. Yours is gorgeous! Thanks!
Such a wonderful video Jeri, your potpourri looks beautiful and I’m sure it smells amazing too! I made some last year when I had an abundance of roses and also used the little buds as well. I also dried some blue petals although I can’t remember the name of the flower but they dried the prettiest blue and really stood out against all the reds and pinks. It really is so fun. Looking forward to the next video!
I love your videos so much, they're so calming and peaceful. My parents just got back from their vacation and while they were gone, they went to a lavender farm. They brought me back some wonderful lavender tea, goat milk lotion, muscle jelly (chronic pain..oof) and a small sachet of lavender potpourri that I now keep above my bed. Edit: With Christmas now close at hand, I'm super excited to get some cinnamon scented pinecones to have on my desk. I love earthy, warm, cozy forest-y scents. My favourite scent by far is the after rain smell.
Hi Geri. I am a big fan of yours. I cannot believe how talented you are in sooo many ways!! Love your programs, especially your tea rimes. Blessings.I am not bragging, but my husband brings me roses every Friday and I have dried the majority of them. I have a huge baskets of dried roses, so beautiful still. But, I want to make Potpourri from some of them. You help your viewers and me in this video. Thank you!
Lovely! I should try this soon. I have my shed full of dried lambs ears and roses hanging upside down. I saved all my poppy seed heads as well. Those poppies you sent me have really brought a lot of joy in my garden! Thank you again for that! I've got a pot of pourri simmering on the back of the stove at the moment. It's got apple, orange, nutmeg, cinnamon and several other things I popped in the pot. It's got the whole house smelling wonderful! I wonder if pine needles would also work in my simmer pot?
I am sharing this one. As a student of William Morris’ history and fabrics- I noticed the honeysuckle pattern reference in your scattered two-toned honeysuckle flowers on a board. And I also noticed how much the last batch resembled the layers of pattern in a Morris fabric. Well done! I wanted to get out my watercolors and create a giant composition of that beauty. Thank you.
It isn't meant to be strictly a tutorial: it's about history, beauty and materials used in creating scent. If you follow along the last 1/4 of the video, I don't know why it would be difficult to make the potpourri according to my instructions.
Good sources for your ingredients: Bulk Apothecary, Hobby Lobby and Wallmart carry Essential Oils and glass containers, Amazon and online shops carry your spices and some dried herbs.
Another favorite video!!! I love potpourri, and I adore the room you were in when you made it. I also love all of the beautiful fingerless gloves you wear. Looking forward to someday seeing the stillroom 😊 I’m also so excited to see your videos. They are simply wonderful ❤️
Jeri , I’m wanting to do as you recommended with my still itty bitty foxglove starts in 4 “ pots . ( the seedlings are the size of lg pin heads . ) and leave them outdoors all winter . My question is … how do I protect them from snow and ice covering them , when they’re soooo tiny and I don’t have a greenhouse? I love your nursery bed outside , and I have something like this that I can leave the pots down in . However , they will be buried in snow before long . What should I do? I don’t want to lose them . I’ve been trying so hard to grow foxglove.
I understand your worries about the tiny babies. try this: put some clear plastic cups over the top of each plant, pop an air hole in the top so the plant doesn't suffocate. When the weather is warm, remove the cups on those days. I have some 4-5" foxglove that thrived the other night at below freezing while nearly everything else in the garden died overnight. They weren't covered at all. Let me know how the foxys are doing as the time passes.
Thank you so much for replying to my question! You’re always the one who understands and cares enough to answer my questions about growing things . I so appreciate you ❤!!
I love this video so much. So gorgeous. I'm sure you love drying all natural but if your looking to keep the shape and colors get yourself some silica gel beads trust me when I say they look just like fresh flowers when dry.
Love it ,I love smelling the roses dried from my garden in the dead of winter reminds me of summer, sunshine, charming. With the books and the herbs reminds of witches brew movies, eye of toad, dragons tongue!Happy Halloween stay safe!🌹👹
