I do bottoms traditionally and bottoms use more water than tops with patio doors and conservatories etc so manage to use around 400l per week working 5 days all day That means even with 300ppm at the tap i use a full £75 bag every 11 weeks ish That is a single 25l di With double di and swapping them when one is getting close to tap ppm i use about 1 quid or 2 a day Much happier to do that than use my ro and going on a meter soon so even better Great vid Mark

I agree with you that throwing 1,000's of litres of RO waste away each month is wrong. Twin DI has lots of benefits. Convenience, simplicity and less to go wrong. Might cost a bit more but when all said and done its worth it I reckon. Especially if you harvest rainwater too.

Personally a would only use it if the tds said 000

Hi ... Working off the premiss that the second DI Vessel has cleaner and purer water going through it....after you have used this system the very first time....could you use the second DI Vessel (containing cleaner resin) as the first DI Vessel...removing the bulk of the impurities and then just refill what was the first vessel and then place it in the second position for a final purification.Maximising the resin use to its fullest?

I guess this man lives in a soft water area this system would not work in a hard water area you would need a reverse osmosis filter

Hi. Thank you for the video. We are trying this system in north wales. Our tap water is only 160. The first vessel we used for three weeks. For some daft reason we didnt check the tds for the last week or so. To our horror it was reading 075 when we started getting complaints. I then added the 2nd vessel full of new resin. For some reason this read 002 for our first 350 then 004 for our next 350. Does this happen to you or does it read 000 for the full 6000 litres? Any suggestions would be gr8

Hi Mark, great videos. Realise time has passed since making this vid and just wondering how you got on. Are you still using this method and further thoughts? Cheers Karl

Very useful mark, I've been considering doing this too but my tds reading is 500, does that mean by your calculation it would cost me a fiver a day? And that's for how many litres you base that per day?is it 300 based on your 1500 a week?

any thoughts on using twin carbon pre-filters to extend resin life?

hi mark... a few questions from me.. i have bought the new Hydropower from Unger. i got just about 800 liters of water at 000PPM.. the price of the filters were ca 50 pounds.. how many liters do you get from a single canister? I am thinking maybe the way you are doing it are cheaper for me as well?! my tap is 208 PPM by the way.

Jack Stratfull you need to check your ppm then have a look on Gardiners website they have a ppm calculator

Do you know how long it lasts? On two resin bottles and a bag of resin.. how many liters of clear water do you produce?
