I love the visual style of that game and I’ve been wanting to create some of the cases for myself so this video is perfect for me. I’ve been in the same situation with doing a “one day paint job” that takes a week and I feel your pain all too well. Absolutely phenomenal work man.

I'm glad this video could help! It took a lot to be patient. The full cosplay took me months to do. And just like you said the stuff you thought would take you a day or two all of a sudden spent a week of you time haha. If you have any questions let me know and I hope to see it when you're done! Feel free to drop a link by.

@@TheCreatorMatt Hey Matt, how did the chrome paint hold up over the long run?
@TheCreatorMatt
@TheCreatorMatt Год назад
@@BadPractices It was mostly protected by the final pack, so nothing really happened that I could see. It could get scratched fairly easily though. It picked up fingerprints and I think it's a very soft paint. But I had no clue how to protect the paint without dulling it. It currently is in storage so I haven't really done much with it. I think it's a good chrome paint, but you may want to find a way to protect it or find a different chrome depending on your use case.

@@TheCreatorMatt Thank you so much. I’m trying to build a collection of toolboxes inspired by the case that you’ve made. I think I’ll do some experiments with coating it. Anyway thank you a much.

@@BadPractices No problem! It's important to be patient with these shiny/metallic paints. Even in my smaller model-making they are very finnicky. You got this!

please for the love of god start spraying before aiming at the piece you want to paint and domt stop your spray until you are no longer aiming at it. It should be left to right over lapping passes. This is how you avoid drips and get proper coverage

I did do that. It's hard to tell. Drips and runs were never my problem during this project. It was where I messed up sanding. I sanded down the gauges I made in the case, not the paint. The filler primer, I had to get fairly close for it to cover. It was even worse with the chrome. You have to get really close to see the shine. Otherwise it's just grey dust.
