I would be very surprised if anyone ever buys a Vanleigh product after watching your videos. When you first got it, I was very impressed by the beautiful woodwork inside. But after all the problems you have encountered, I have crossed them off my list despite the customer service. I'd rather have one that doesn't break down (as often) than one that needs so much fixing. My wife and I are retiring into a fifth wheel soon, and we have been looking at rigs and tow vehicles. But I have learned a lot from your adventure. First, our original plan was to rent a storage space in which to place the stuff that we weren't going to take with while travelling. We are still going to do that, but ours will be a MUCH smaller space. All that goes into it will be the furniture and other small items that have been in the family for several generations and which will eventually go to our children. BOTH of them are in the process of moving, so passing the inheritance items on to them at this time is foolish. So the rental space will be temporary. Second, even though it is just the two of us, we have five grandchildren and our plan is to travel to only three places. We will have a small piece of property in New Mexico where we plan to spend winters. We have a daughter in Montana who is moving from a place in town to a multi-acre parcel a few miles down the highway from where they are now. There will be room for us to park our rig while we visit. And we have a daughter in Colorado, in between Denver and Colorado Springs. They are looking at new houses, and room for us to park is on the list of priorities, but less likely since they aren't looking at acreage. The third thing I have learned form your videos is that we actually want one of those humungous, monster-sized RVs. Grand Design Solitude is high on our list. We're not planning to travel all over the country, so we aren't concerned with the lack of maneuverability. Also, I spent several years driving a semi-truck for a living. Think handling your Grand Design was difficult? Try taking a semi (9' wide, 13'6" tall, 70' long, including the tractor) through the middle of Brooklyn, NY, at rush hour!!! Also, we have a dog and a cat like you. But the dog is a Rottweiler. He needs room to stretch out. So we are very grateful that you recorded all your difficulties. It has helped with our planning process very much.
Hello! Glad to have you follow along! We loved our solitude and if we weren’t moving much I’d definitely want the larger space too! Oh yes! Plus you have driven semi’s no problem at all 😂. Sounds like you have a great plan! Thank you for sharing as I’m sure your comments too will help others in their decision making!
50 years ago, living in Scandinavia, we discovered "bag sheets" for blankets. All you do to make the bed is shake it out and it combines sheet, blankets and bedspread. It might be why we're still married after 52 years!
Hi Connie! Your “ bag sheets” sound perfect! It’s the little things that make a marriage last 😉😂 appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment!
Hi, I just subscribed after watching a couple of your videos. I love them. I'm from the UK. I sleep with 2 dogs,or they sleep with me, luckily they are not very big, they are true sisters but don't look like each other, don't get along either. They are in my pic at the side. They are 8 years old. It is awful trying to make my bed I am in a small room, my bed is up against a wall and then with 2 dogs on the bed and me with a bad back, it's awkward xx
Ooh là là I want a Minky! Thank you for the heads up. I HATE making my camper bed, I HATE trying to do the corners, I HATE the corner coming untucked every other night. Beddy is pretty lol. Love your vids, keep on rollin' be happy and healthy y'all. From Hartwell, GA.
Y'all crack us up! 😂Matthew always has Buc-ee's on the brain too, LOL 🤣When Tammy said, you didn't tuck it under the thing, Matthew pointed at Shion. Same problem over here in our RV, LOL 😁Congrats on getting rid of your storage unit! We are not brave enough yet to get rid of ours! ~ Shion and Matthew
😂 glad we could make you smile! Sounds like we have some similarities 😂. Storage unit is a love hate thing. We just decided we hated it more 😉. Hope you both are well!
Thanks for giving me nightmares! 😂😂 We don’t full time in our camper, if we did, I might just have to get one of those for the bed! My husband moves around just like yours does! Not me! Once I get comfortable, I wake up in the same spot I fell asleep! So glad y’all are feeling better! When I got Covid, I couldn’t even tell I had it except the Saturday before I tested positive, I had body aches all over! Never had a fever, was tired, but that’s nothing unusual for a 52 year old in menopause! 😂😂 Happy camping and safe travels! ❤️
Hi Lynn! We were trying to have a little creative fun with that nighttime segment 😂 I’m so glad your covid was mild! Thank you so much for watching and sharing your story too!
@@TilFurtherNotice I know y’all was kidding around! I liked it so much, I watched it twice!! 😂😂😂 Awesome job with it! I love watching your videos! Glad you decided not to quit after the few crappy weeks y’all had! So sorry about missing your daughter’s wedding! I know that just broke your heart and made you feel even worse!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
We have a Beddy and love it. We just zip up every morning and it made itself. We unzip the entire comforter and throw it in the washer and dryer. Very easy to clean.
Hi! We are loving it too! wish the bottom sheet part unzipped too for easy washing, but I'll take this any day over regular sheets! Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment!
If Scott’s snoring can be caused by sleep apnea, which will cause an enlarged heart, that can lead to heart disease and/or various heart arrhythmias. A CPAP machine can change his and your life for the better. Scott won’t snore using a properly fitted mask on a CPAP machine. My mask covers my mouth and sends air into my nose. It uses distilled water and a heated hose to make prevent the drying of my nasal passages. A sleep study will tell your doctor if this is something that will help.
We get to see deer and rabbits and racoons and skunks (lucky us) and groundhogs and fox and all sorts of animals without even leaving our house. One of the joys of living in the country. I even saw a river otter cross our driveway last week - which is the first time I've ever seen one of those outside of a zoo. It was pretty cool! Nature rocks. We've heard about the Beddy's bedding before. We weren't sure it would work for us because we like to have our feet free at night as well. But if you have it completely unzipped it's still easier to make the bed than just pulling blankets up? BTW - If you ever run into issues with the fitted sheet part of it coming lose, use these sheet suspenders: amzn.to/3QHKUwP They're super cheap but they WORK! We're able to tighten down the fitted sheet on our mattress and it keeps it nice and tight during our entire trip. We're even using sheets that are larger than our short queen mattress and they still work amazingly well. They are game-changers! BTW I jumped when your "watcher" made an appearance! LOL
Hello! I don’t know why you go camping, your home sounds like paradise to me! Wow! So much wildlife 😍. Thank you so much for following along! I started watching your new video but our internet is sketchy here. Will try again in a bit 😉.
@@TilFurtherNotice Oh, I hope you're able to watch it soon. I always love hearing your feedback. Yes, we don't really leave our house to camp. Our camper gives us the ability to get out and see other parts of our state and the country. It's just a vehicle to take us where we want to go.
Nice! Glad you found a solution. The ratchet strap option was hilarious! I was worried about my feet being trapped too, especially since our bed is in the cap. We'll do a video of ours at some point! 🤣
You can purchase "garters" for holding fitted sheets under the mattress and they work surprisingly well. They are basically pieces of wide, strong elastic with a garter connection attached to each end and you use them diagonally from one edge of the fitted sheet to the edge of the sheet perpendicular to it at the bed's corners. The further from the corner the better, but if used/stretched too far, the garter end connections can damage the sheets, so finding that "sweet spot" is a bit of trial and error. I bought a set of 4 (the way they are sold) a few years ago to help with stubborn fitted sheets that didn't want to stay tucked under the bed, but I have a soft-side waterbed and the corners are just to heavy for me to lift to get the garters properly located under the mattress to work. However, on a normal mattress, I think they'd work just fine.
Thank you Lora! So far we’ve had no problems with the corners coming off of the beddy. Hooray! I’m going to keep this in mind for future bedding though! Thanks so much for the info!
Does that unzip completely apart for washing? Watching Scotty sleep, it looks hot. I guess you could throw a comforter on it if you chose? You know for the bed spread? Do they make one that has a bed spread? There are no links to the product which is why I'm asking you. Thanks for your review!
Hey Bert! Just added the link! Thank you. The top is a comforter that unzips completely from the bottom half. I wish the bottom half had an unzip for the sheet too, but hey, it's an improvement! We love it! Appreciate you watching!
I hope the Beddy's work well for you. I can't make up my mind about them? So I bought a double sleeping bag instead. So far it is working out, but it dose tend to slide around a lot. Which we are not liking! RV beds are definitely a challenge. Anyway glad your on the mend and enjoy your new spot.
Hi Mona! The beddy seems to do the trick! Thank you for sharing your rv bed idea lol. A beddy is basically a sleeping bed comforter that fits like a fitted sheet 😉
Tammy and Scott, great video. You need to keep the channel real. The Beddy’s look cool. Glad that it sounds like you like them. Thanks for sharing. Piece and safe travels.
Hi Charles! Well, it was supposed to be a good product and also the customer service! that's been our saving grace, as Vanleigh has dealt with every issue we've had no questions asked. Appreciate you watching!
So do you wash the whole thing or is their sheets you unzip and remove? Looks nice. Was that soft top to warm on the skin or do yiu feel like a top sheet is needed? Boy that was confusing 😁
Hi Robin! the top comforter part unzips from the bottom fitted bed part so you can wash them separately. I wish the bottom had an unzip just for the sheet part you lay on too, but we love it and the bed is made and doesn't pop off in the corners anymore! Appreciate you watching!
Enjoyed watching your videos, so funny when Scott said about the ratchet strap 😄. Glad to hear you are feeling much better and getting your rhythm back. That’s crazy how much they charge for storage😮 Looks like it would make it easier to make the bed. Can’t wait to see your next adventures. Stay safe.
Oh my goodness! I just found this channel and I have really enjoyed the last couple of episodes! Thank you for the super real content! We've been talking about getting a Beddy for our RV bed, but just haven't pulled the trigger yet. Scott's idea about a ratchet strap made me laugh, so awesome! Thank you for the morning cup of cheer!
Thank you James for the morning smiles as we read your message! So happy to have you following along! Fortunately, we haven’t had to pull out the ratchet strap yet 😉😂
Can't wait for each new video, y'all make me laugh. If I started talking to my wife that I want a Beddy for the camper and to be able to snuggle up with Minkee she would either divorce me or call the padded wagon to pick me up. Keep them videos coming.
Thank you! Your comment made our day and totally made us laugh too 😂😂😂. I can only imagine your wife’s look of confusion 🤣. Appreciate you more than you know!
Great video guys! And Yay, Tammy, you finally got a Beddy. So is it warm enough when it's cold that you don't need any additional blanket or two? And you're right, it's too bad that the bottom sheet that you lay on doesn't unzip so you don't have to take off the whole thing when you wash it.
Yes Cindy! It’s super warm and comfy! Have not needed any extra blankets so far! We really like it! If they made the bottom part unzip just a sheet off it would be perfection! Thank you for watching and always leaving us comments!
Thank you for the review on the Beddys! ❤️ I've been eyeballing them for awhile, but can't convince myself they are worth the price. How often do you wash them? Are they easy to remove and put back on? What about washing and drying them? The top, is it a comforter instead of a sheet? Hope you are still having fun out there!! Those birds can get aggressive if you are near their babies!! 🐦 I cannot imagine the reaction to a real predator!! I don't know if you guys watched M.A.S.H. or not, but on one episode they did races with a nurse on a stretcher and a doctor pushing. One of the teams were called 'Bouncing Betty.' Scott's calling the Beddys Bettys made me think of it!! 😂😂
Hi Karen! The Beddy is perfect for the rv gig. It’s two separate pieces a top comforter and bottom fitted all in one sheet and they zip together. I wash them seperate. The top is more manageable than the bottom but since we have to use laundromats anyway I just take advantage of the big washers. Might be good for kiddos, but you still have to wash them as often as normal. I only wish the bottom piece had a third removable zipper sheet so you didn’t have to remove the entire fitted bottom to wash. Ok that’s my scoop! Clear as mud? Lol. I did use to watch mash and remember that 😂. Hope you are well! 💕
