I work as a gardener, and I find myself regularly talking with plants, shrubs and trees. It is silent and mostly involuntary communication, and if I have to cut off a branch (for example), I always take a few silent moments to explain what I'm about to do, and why, before offering my apologies. I do get answered sometimes, not with words, though I can "feel" the answer. There's nothing weird about it at all, as it is just as natural to me as breathing fresh air.

My houseplants tell me energetically when they need water, or something else. I’m no where near a green thumb but when I started “listening” to them better, they started truly thriving.

I work as a lumberjack and encountered similar situations. But it feels way different when you cut down tree's on a daily basis. I often times feel bad for the trees. I'm glad I'm also planting lots of tree's.

Yes I feel definitely one can interact with plants and trees they also seem very happy to reply back by their movements of branches or leaves, they understand your love n emotions too, they feel your pain too, highly evolved beings than humans.

Thank you for your profound message. On a certain level I was aware of this but to hear it explained so clearly is enlightening. There are two forms of knowing: "the conceptual knowing through labels [mental labeling process] and the other is a deeper knowing through immediate perception through awareness." I wish my mind was less cluttered and my thought less distracting because they have prevented me from experiencing a deeper connection with the world around me. Creating a deeper knowing, becoming still like the tree, on a daily basis, is my goal.

I am reminded by the four agreements, where the 2nd agreement is, "don't take anything personally". I have found that if you can stay present and aware while interacting with others, then you will respond from a place of compassion. Even when someone is outright expressing themselves in a negative way, you can remember that they are not actually seeing you. They are seeing through their own personal film of perceptions that are quite different from the clarity of reality.

Yes. I find...the hardest thing is getting past the....'taking things personally' ....but the upside of that is that.....I must have a good grasp of the 'treat others as you would like to be treated.' Therefore I find it hard when am disappointed in their abuse. Guess also - I have self respect.♡ the

I gave that book to my son when he was in high school. He took that advice to heart and one day when I was hurt by some unthinking person he reminded me of the second agreement. I really think those agreements helped him to not get hooked into negative interchanges.

I've had a mad experience with trees where I was walking and meditating in the forest. And I went into a different way of experiencing the forest. I don't know what it was but time seemed to slow down to a really slow level where sounds changed and I could feel the energy of every tree in the forest at the same time. And then it stopped. It's never happened again, but it was so peaceful.

There is no other. We're all one. Consciousness is universal. Thus when you see another part of your consciousness inhabiting a different body you still relate to yourself. So whatever annoys you about yourself will manifest in "other" people. When you're angry you'll meet angry people. To attract love you have to fully accept yourself and spread love first.

@@LadyMaryTalbot Good question. First off, doubt is usually of the ego. You intuitively know something is right but your mind comes up with "reasons" why it can't. Think about it this way: when your foot hurts, do you condemn the foot for hurting and being abusive towards you? No, you either try to apply some medication or you ask yourself what happened or both. Did you hurt yourself? Did you carry too much? Do you have some posture issues that create an imbalance so that one foot is under higher pressure than the other? Similarly you don't have to judge "other" people as abusive. Instead ask: why do they hurt? I was in a similar situation a few years back. I lost my job because of family tragedy. My boss and colleagues did not ask why I had spent the night in hospital and under-performed after that. Instead they probably thought I was abusive. I indeed had some quarrels with colleagues (especially those who had strong egos). As I was still under shock, enormous stress, mourning and in survival mode my ego got triggered more often. Likewise the abusive person shows up in your life because you still have some type of abusive past in you. Either you were a victim of abuse and still think you're a victim or you were abusive in your past. In any case you can fix the problem by looking at yourself. It's does not mean you are to be blamed for the abusive person. It's not about assigning blame.

@@LadyMaryTalbot Not quite. If you see "abuse" in the other, then you've made "abuse" real for you. If instead you see a cry for love in place of the "abuse", you will recognize that the other's cry for love is also your own. In that you can be one. In that do you share the same identity.

Amazing teaching……… I learnt another simple practice from Sadhguru that helps you stay present.. Before falling asleep sit for a few minutes with a suggestion that “ Im not the body and im not the mind, im just presence”. Very simple yet effective if done every day…..

This might sound silly.. But I have always looked at trees, since a child. I would quite often climb up the branches, and sit there. Relaxing. .. watching the world below, moving around in some sort of chaos. . I didn’t know then, as a child, what I was trying to understand. . But I certainly do now.

"Once you tell a child the name of a bird, they will never see that bird again." In my experience this is so true. When someone I am with says, 'Look at that cardinal!' I get a mental image or images of previous sightings of cardinals, and while I am going through the mental images, I am not seeing what 'that' particular cardinal is doing.

I have a friend that is constantly angry and negative. I try to understand why. He told me much of his story before we met. I understand where he is coming from and am patient with him. I am his friend, how can I not be ? The easy way is to turn away and leave him with his misery. But that's not me. As a friend I am also blunt when need be.

We're the only ones who can know, or consequently do anything about it. I've had to do it recently and it was done with love and the best of wishes. Oh just bliss listening to this. Who finds an instant state of connection when they hear Eckhart's calm words? I naturally connect with energies in silence but as soon as I get into labels (Gemini, PTSD, ADD, etc - interestingly labels I apply to myself) then the connection is obviously lost. But this video? This is how I first learned beingness or source of life. I sat and just looked at the tree, overtime the tree completely changed form and as I breathed, it's like the tree breathed with me. The form or formless (I can't really lable it) of the tree expanded, my energy too expanded with it. It's like you become the tree and the tree becomes you. Also, dogs!! Dogs teach you this unconditional look you can share with others. My dog has taught me so much in unconditional being. I now share this out to others..

yes, i always bring "my problems" to mr.Tolle, & often, instead of finding an answer to some question i had, he completely reframes(or unframes) the question, pulling the rug out from under the actual problem, identification with ego (egodom) & then i am restored to temporary sanity, for a moment.say what u will about the ego/voice in the head, it cant be disparaged for lack of trying. as i said to a friend about Tolle & his many(brilliant & free )youtube videos, it is so refreshing to hear someone who is not full of 🚽

I hugged a tree and instantaneously became one with that tree…it was like there was absolutely no difference between the tree and me…it was as if I Was hugging myself! It was soooo peaceful and loving… I cried. ☀☀☀🕊🕊🕊

Eckhart, I experienced an angel, I didn't just see it visually I felt it, consum all of me without me even realising until those moments were gone. The whole experience lasted around 30 seconds and has quite literally 'blown my mind' and lead me on this journey of self discovery and understanding everything. We are so blessed. i took a new job about a month and a half ago where i don't have to interact with people too much. i just mind my own business correcting labels on boxes and moving them. it pays much less than all the years it took me to get my degree, and i must say i still enjoy this job much more bc of this lesser level of interaction with other humans. i probably will consider working part time in both fields just in case i tire of dealing with other people. over time, i love nature and animals more than humans. with the bad life experiences i've had with people, i prefer the company of my cat and working in a dirty hangar with boxes. this is what makes me happy.

I get this - followed Eckhart for years - I am present very, very often - attention on attention and my ego is fading - yet I am not at peace, as I desire nothing and then I wonder why I even exist - where as before awakening I had a reason to build a business / clean the car / make money / travel / learn spanish / learn guitar.....blah blah and an ego to push me to do these things and to think it mattered - now I have no goals, no purpose, and no joy - life feels limited, pointless and often boring and I just can't get through this stage.

We all go through this stage @Scott its great that you have noticed and recognized it early enough. I would like to tell you to develop a sense of gratitude and start journaling. Have a diary or notebook and write about your day's experience, be thankful for what you have and what makes you alive, be thankful for the food, for the air you breath, for the people in your life, for the job you have. Begin with gratitude and you will find purpose and meaning in your life. I hope this helps you. You are loved
