In this episode we spend way too much time making wooden things so we can get the adapter plate made to properly mount the 01E gearbox to the Ford V6 gearbox.
A proper master-class in how to make an adaptor plate, at home in your shed, at a sensible price. Well explained. You make it look simple, just like Allen Millyard does when carving engines about, but I suspect it's not. Keep up the great videos.
Thanks Andrew, it does look simple, and to be honest it isn't that difficult, it's just time consuming and awkward when doing it alone. The adapter bits I made up definitely made life a lot easier. 🙂
another way of centring the tap in the drill press is to use a centre point in the chuck on the top of the tap, then just turn the tap handle a few turns then once started just finish by hand
