There are eight teams since 1970 that I think you can make the argument for as being the greatest NBA team of all time. The 1995-1996 Chicago Bulls are one of them.

@Green Lion the warriors would get eat alive by the bulls, you the fool for thinking other wise, 2 major differences In those teams, 1 the warriors whole team is legit trash on defense compared to the 96 bulls and 2, the bulls are just as good on defense as offense Jordan shuts down curry Rodman shuts down Durant Pippen shuts down green Harper stops klay The warriors don’t have a true center Also the warriors bench is pretty bad compared to the bulls Bulls in 5 games easy

Talking about load management : In the 3 seasons from 1995 to 1998 in the second 3peat, Michael Jordan played EVERY SINGLE game, every regular game of the season, every playoff game, every final game.
@lisaa8795
@lisaa8795 2 года назад
At his age, too. That strength training program improved an already superior athlete, and gave him even more stamina to be able to compete with the younger guys when he was in his mid-30s. An age when most players back then were starting to slow down.

Not everybody, even the top athletes on planet earth today are God's favorite. Seriously, Jordan's genetic gifts are one in 10 million type stuff combine that with the fact that his mindset is also one in 10 million type stuff and you get basically a once in a generation athletic super freak. You can't really blame guys who have had degenerative injuries like Kawhi for not playing 82 games every single season because they might end up like guys like T Mac who had injury after injury after injury

The 96 Bulls also can do a killer smallball if needed. Put Rodman at the 5, Kukoc at the 4, Pip and MJ at the 3 and 2 respectively, and switch Harper and Kerr at the 1 depending on the situation. People who say the 96 Bulls don't translate in the modern era - - this team will take it personally.

@NicolasAlcalde
@NicolasAlcalde 2 года назад
@@T65XJ It depends how you do that exercise. If you pluck the Bulls out of the 90s and place them in 2017 they would get smoked. They didn't have a single guy in their starting lineup that could shoot the three. Without those years the line was moved up, Jordan would have the worst percentage in the history of the game. Pippen and Harper were just as bad. Longley and Rodman literally did not shoot threes. They'd be trading 2s for 3s against three of the best three point shooters ever. And that Warriors team was just as talented, if not more so, top to bottom. I am in no way a Warriors fan, but the game is completely different today and the Bulls would be about as bad as you could possibly dream up a team in the three point shooting era.
@T65XJ
@T65XJ 2 года назад
@@NicolasAlcalde I agree, if you pluck any team from any era and dropped them in the future with no info, no time to adapt, no time to watch tape, they would get smoked. Give that 96 bulls one year to acclimatise, learn the new offense, get used to the ticky tack rules, make roster changes all other NBA teams are allowed to make, they win the championship easy. Jordan, Pippen, Rodman, Kukoc and Harper or Kerr would match up well with modern teams. Any time Jordan chose to make the 3 a priority (when he shoots close to three 3 pointers a game) his percentages are not bad at all (and I ignore the 22 foot line too). Pippen Kukoc and Kerr all have three point range and would improve with training and more opportunities. Jordan and Pippen would shoot a ridiculous number of foul shots every game.
@NicolasAlcalde
@NicolasAlcalde 2 года назад
@@T65XJ That's hypothetical and there's nothing behind any of it. There are tons of guys today that practice shooting threes far more than those guys and still can't shoot. It's possible those guys just couldn't shoot. Pippen was a bad three point shooter, and again, Jordan was the worst ever without those years. There's no reason to believe they'd be great shooters with more practice. Maybe they'd be decent. They'd still be going against the undisputed best ever, possibly the next best and the best tall shooter ever. And the Warriors also had a few of the best defenders in the league, just like the Bulls did.

Rodman was a phenomenal defensive rebounder. I've only come across one guy who could give him a run for his money in NBA history. That man was Elgin Baylor of the Los Angeles Lakers 1960s. Elgin Baylor had more rebounds per game in his career than Dennis rodman. Elgin Baylor was only 6 ft 5. Dennis rodman was 6 ft 7. I would say that Baylor was the only pound for pound match for rodman. The more amazing thing about rodman was that he was putting up these massive rebounding numbers in his mid to late 30s. That's when people are supposed to have lost a few steps, and not be as good.

I was lucky; born and raised in Chicago. I worked at a high-end men's retailer. When Michael Jordan first was drafted, he came in to buy some dress shirts. I helped him. Nice guy. Later, he partnered with the owners of the store on some business ventures. I was not his salesman in the store after the initial purchase, but still had a lot of interaction with him, and the rest of the Bulls team, who regularly came into the store to shop. I always bristle when someone suggests that "X" is better than Jordan; that "X" team is better than these Bulls. Different times, for sure. But NO ONE dominated like they did. Who's never lost a finals? MJ; that's who. Jack-The-Ripper of the NBA. LeBron? Great player. Durant? Great player. Russell? Great player. Bryant? Great player. They couldn't carry Scottie's jock-strap. I laugh when anyone thinks that they should be in the "conversation" about GOAT. There's only one; MJ. Respect to all of them; but no one was better, and no team was better.

Bulls were really the first modern basketball team. They were really first international team . had multiple good foreign players in Kerr (Lebanon), Kukoc (Croatia) Longley (Australia), and Wennington (Canada) . They did not rely on a dominant big man. They really had 5 interchangable players all 6'6-6'10 in MJ, Pip, Rodman, Harper, and Kukoc. and some good 3pt shooters in Kerr , Buchelor , and Kukoc. They would dominate even more in today's league. Best team ever.

In regards to the '91/ '92 Bulls vs. the '96 Bulls, I think that the 1996 Bulls were greater simply bc of their depth. We can argue athleticism vs. experience when it comes to MJ and Scottie, but the rest of the roster head-to-heads go towards the 1996 Bulls. Luc and Cartwright are just about even while Rodman and Ron Harper could defend against Horace Grant and Paxson respectively. B.J. Armstrong was the notable bench player in those first 2 championship teams but Toni Kukoc was obviously one of the best 6th Men of that decade and Steve Kerr's stats are comparable to that of B.J.'s. Playing in an era w/ Hakeem, Shaq, David Robinson, Ewing, and Alonzo, the Bulls Centers always held their own. Chalk it up to either help defense from the perimeter players like Jordan and Pippen or perhaps it's due to Phil Jackson's coaching, the best Centers of the 90s never exactly dominated the Bulls. The Bulls Centers couldn't score as great as others bigs, but they had the "3-Headed Monster" who could expend their 6 fouls and the Bulls wouldn't have to worry about the lack of scoring from the Center department if they ever got into foul trouble. When it comes to playing in the modern era, a lot of the perimeter players would of course have to shoot more 3s. Kerr and Pippen had no problems shooting, and other players like Jud Buechler and Toni were also knockdown shooters. Jordan and Ron Harper would also shoot more in today's game. They could play "small ball" by using Rodman at the 5, and Toni, Scottie, MJ, and either Ron Harper or Steve Kerr for the 4, 3, 2, and 1 positions. Jordan and Pippen were obviously great perimeter defenders, while Ron Harper at "6'6" would be capable of guarding the least athletic player from the 1-3 positions. Randy Brown can be used for a few minutes each game to defend at the start of the 2nd Quarter and the Bulls wouldn't have problems w/ playmaking as they would most likely have Scottie and Toni on the court at the same time. I'd say the only drawback in using Rodman in today's era was that the Bulls Rodman wasn't as quick w/ his lateral movements so he wasn't as good in the perimeter as he was in his Pistons days. A switch could cause some problems for the Bulls while his rebounding would be neutralized if the opponent has their Center located beyond the 3-Point line. Nevertheless, I think the 90s Bulls were perhaps the most adaptable team from before the 2010s that could play before their era or after.

@@razkable pippen can't shoot 3s or FTs? 37% from 3 isn't horrible. and his FTs improved in the 2nd threepeat from 67 to 77%. Let's keep it a buck, defense wins championships. the bulls have a much better defense than the warriors. they also had the size and versatility to play the warriors and smother them except maybe durant. the bulls would all be bigger to a man than anyone on the warriors (again except durant unless they tried to play kukoc on him for some reason) to affect their shot but they would also have speed. so they'd be taller but also as fast and 4 of the starters rated as + defenders. If you think the bulls would play longley you are mistaken. they'd play a starting 5 of Harper 6'6", Jordan 6'6", Pippen 6'8", Kukoc 6'11" and Rodman at center at 6'7". Or they'd play caffey in those minutes if they wanted to preserve some bench value with kukoc coming off it. phil jackson doesn't bash his head against a door if something clearly isn't or won't work, that's part of why he won 11 titles. Kukoc doesn't have to play much defense if they play him on draymond or whoever the center is when green isn't it. MJ was not athletic anymore? No he just chose to be a jump shooter more often in the 2nd threepeat because he was the best post up guard of the era and could school anyone with it; he still had speed, quickness, strength and leaping, just not as much as when he was younger. It's like saying Lebron James wasn't athletic anymore when he turned 33. The Bulls could play Kerr whenever it was presented to them, either when curry or klay were on the bench (believe it or not your guys wouldn't play 48 minutes every game). that's how they hid kerr when they played the jazz as stockton torched kerr when they played but kerr still got his time in and made contributions. beuchler is being severely underrated and randy brown is a +defender that could give curry fits whenever he opted to be anything but a shooter. it might take 6 or 7 but the bulls have enough offense and most importantly the defense to beat the warriors. especially given that the bulls can still generate offense by getting to the basket and collecting fouls on any of your big three. so they have more potential to force your guys to the bench but also more insulated from drought which jump shooting has a tendency to have against excellent D--like when the warriors shot like garbage during their choke in the finals.
