The difference between the OG and yours is that the Mcdonalds one is perfectly engineered to eat while driving one handed down the freeway when you are late for work.
You know what's wild? The egg that's in the egg McMuffin is probably one of the most real foods at McDonalds. I worked there as a teenager and was stunned that we actually cracked eggs onto the grill to make it.
I was eating a sausage egg mcmuffin while watching this, I honestly think it tastes pretty good, but I'm not picky either. I'm sure yours was better, but I'm totally fine with a mcmuFF
I like it with curly mustard , tomato , cheese , egg , flat sausage , condiments . the curly mustard really compliments the sandwich with the curly texture and spicy leaf .
As someone from England, I can confirm that we do actually call them 'English' muffins a lot of the time. American muffins are arguably as common in the UK now, so it would cause too much confusion.
Bruh I legit just watched a video on that. Apparently it's because the company that makes the machine isn't incentivised to make it user friendly meaning that franchises have to call a technician to fix cryptic error codes. Said video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SrDEtSlqJC4.html
Can we get a “How to create your own recipe”? a series where you walk us through the actual creation of your recipes and tells us proper ratios, how to make sauces, cooking times, etc...
Every comparison between making it home and store-bought is always about double in height. I think restaurants just take into consideration people that don’t have large mouths. Hahaha
I was gonna say the same thing. Josh could benefit by learning proper heights and ratios. A hamburger bun is not a round dinner roll and an English muffin is a disc not a balloon. All that being said I love his videos.
@@bobbycresap4440 good points great videos I think sometimes being more grandiose with what you do makes for a better thumbnail too. Are yes the all important thumbnail. I know I struggle with them
Tillamook extra sharp cheese slices, Thomas' english muffin, Jones Dairy Canadian bacon, cooking spray and a 3 inch ramekin. A McMuffin you can make before the coffee is done brewing.
Very nice. Definitely could cook up a batch on Saturday or Sunday, freeze'em up and then have them during the week. Spicy mayo is an interesting twist, very cool.
kids forget ... runny yolks were farm fresh eggs when you didnt have any cream settled from the morning milking ... and the runny yolks were for the creamy flavour ... OLDER eggs were hard boiled because eggs grow bacteria like stupidity in america ... it goes rampant ... those who grew up with hard boiled eggs often had families or granma's from the depression who knew the difference between fresh eggs and week old ... these days kids dont know SHIT even if they stepped in it such as bacon ... bacon is a smoke only process ... no salt cure ... salt cured pork is porchetta smoke it its panchetta ... that aint Bacon ... thats panchetta ... canadian bacon ... true canadian bacon is smoked only pork that crap you find in store is the america verison which doesnt even aboot cover it (may as well have stepped on it with a cow patty covered boot anyway it taste that bad) ... and yes americans say aboot NOT canadians ... canadians speak english .. americans speak something else entirely
Truthfully even though no one should be going to McDonald’s to be healthy, the egg McMuffin is probably the most nutritious menu item for the calories you’re eating.
I mean it's basically the same thing I would make at home for a regular breakfast. Mcdonalds is so cheap it literally isn't worth the time to make it ever myself considering they are a block away unless I am going higher end esp considering the app deals.
Yeah I always like to imagine some poor old lady trying to find a recipe and seeing him smack his butt, saying “PAPA NO KISS,” and describe b-roll in oddly sensual way.
@@starwarsguy123ful not really, I live in Spain, which is a shame they don't sell them here, since we have large British comunities. and American & British militar bases
Hey papa, would we ever get a series “but quicker” where you make things that normally take ages to make but in like 30 mins. It’s exam season and I want to eat well but time is of the essence
I remember working at McDonald’s and I was the over night shift. There was a man who came through the drive thru every other morning at 3am, and always emphasized to make his McMuffins extra toasty “make sure it’s burnt”
runny yolks been and forever will taste like shit unfortunately, dont tell me im wrong because i dont care about your opinion sadly, and also because i dont check my replies regrettably
That's not the point. McDonalds isn't looking for 5* meals, they want easily repeatable stuff that's passable that acne-ridden teenagers can replicate in their restaurants and not f*ck up. They still mess it up from time to time, but consistency is the game here. That's the entire point that these vids miss. When something has "clout" in the fast-food sphere, it just means it's better than other $hitty fast-food options, not that it can go toe-to-toe with anything that's actually edible and made from scratch. Fast food is all about speed and consistency, and that's exactly what you get. So whenever you make something yourself, *of course* it's going to be better. You just spent 6-12 hours making a god damn muffin with egg on it. Breakfast gone and rolled past already.
i was thinknig the same .. Mcdonald's is cheap because they have to be fast .. proofing dough is my morning commute lol ... yeah it tastes better but you're eating this on your day of when you got hours to prepare a breakfast
You literally pointed out the most obvious thing that everyone knows? Like what’s the point lol. Dude made an expensive handmade and labor intensive mcmuffin.
I think the more relevant point is people often do go to McDonalds expecting a gourmet experience, but so they can get tolerable food for cheap without having to cook it themselves. The sausage egg mcmuffin though has done me no wrong, with hashbrowns.
@@timothypaulino8454 I order mine to be more gourmet every time... I always ask give the upcoming specific directions (and yeah, I’m a pain in their ass for doing this lol, but their food ain’t cheap anymore, so fuck ‘em! If they want to start charging the kind of money that a restaurant with higher quality food normally charges, then they better be prepared to start acting more like a normal restaurant, which includes people customizing their food orders... They have been getting very greedy with their food prices over the last few years, to say the least!)... 1) Use a fresh egg (none of that pre-cooked microwaved shit) 2) Make sure that cheese is MELTED! 3) Add _TWO_ slices of tomatoes. 4) Add plenty of mayo. 5) No meat (I’ve been a vegetarian for 30 years now). My Egg McMuffins always come out delish af. My long-term significant other is a massive meat eater, but after he tried a bite of mine, he always asks for me to order it for him the way I do it for myself. That’s how good it is. :) I’m so glad that he made that decision too (without me even provoking it to boot), because before he chose to do that, there was an incident where McDonald’s messed up in how they labeled our egg McMuffin packaging, so I ended up taking a big bite of an Egg McMuffin that had meat in it, and I instantly wanted to throw up. Soooo nasty. I spit out my food all over the Egg McMuffin, so my boyfriend obviously didn’t want it after I did that; it therefore had to be wasted/thrown away. The only thing worse than wasting food in my eyes is wasting money. It really pissed me off!
Yeah who eats the boring ham one? Those sausage patties McDonald's use are great. I can't seem to find any in the supermarkets near me that taste anywhere near as good.
@@andrewwashere82 I've tried ham a couple times when they get my order wrong (accidentally I'm sure). It's not like it's terrible, but it's pretty much like a dry sandwich I would make in a hurry at home.
7:02 "WELL WELL WELL! First off, we already won because it's got a juicy yolk. Alright, that's the only way. And if you don't like runny yolks, that's okay. iT's OkAy To Be WrOnG! mOmMy! *starts to literally make out with the Egg McMuffin* I have two things to say: we won, and second, we won!"
My kids and I are currently binge watching all this content ❤️❤️❤️! I’m a chef and I really appreciate this guy’s culinary genius! Love this channel, subscribed my friend🤗🥰!
@@TormentedPenguin it's $2 for 10 or 12 English muffins, $2 for a dozen eggs and 4$4 for ham steak, $3 for American cheese slices That's $11 for a dozen sammies or under a buck each. At McDonald's it's 2.80 a sandwich. So you can get 3x the sandwich at home for what you pay for McDonald's. There's almost nothing that's cheaper at a restaurant than doing it yourself. Learn economics.
@@HH-le1vi like I said.. 1 or 2 it's cheaper to go to McDonald's . When you make them in bulk, then it becomes cost effective. Basic economics.. $5 vs $11
'but they're not actually called English muffins in England' As far as every English shop, cafe and restaurant are concerned, apparently they are! In fact I don't know any alternative name for an English Muffin
I thought it was just a muffin and people guess what you are referring to by context (which used to lead to disappointment when my dad said he had bought muffins for breakfast...) 🤷🏼♀️
I have a challenge for Josh, I wanna see him do a but better, while also keeping it in the avg amount of time it takes whatever restaurant to make it. I like seeing him slap fast food restaurants and stuff but let’s be honest it’s not a challenge unless he has to make it in the same time they do. I think it’d be pretty cool to watch
they cook everything in batches and put it in a warming drawer. It's literally like a shelf that holds the food to keep it warm after it's cooked.... You're suppose to rotate it every 2 hours (throw the old one away), but most don't *puke*
I can say with honestly I have never had an old Mcmuffin made like this. I'm positive the ones I order are pretty much made fresh. Sometimes they are too hot to hold and steam is 100% coming out of them this is in Australia tho.
I love the muffin recipe, which I had a mixer to make them.. My daughters eyes got so big watching this with me she asked if I could make those. Great video!!
Man man man man man. It's awesome how you transform something that had an impact on people and make it on a whole different level. 10/10 4 tomatoes and 1 pear. Sorry I don't talk in English.
Probaly one of the darkest times of my life, and then Joshua comes and saves the day, just making it a lot better with this banger of a video. Thank you so much!
Never been a big fan of Josh but now I see him wearing a Mercedes AMG Motorsport shirt and now I at least see he is a man with good entertainment tastes
"American cheese" was created by a Canadian, interestingly enough. Another interesting fact, is Canadians don't eat what Americans call "Canadian bacon". What Canadians *think* Americans are referring to as "Canadian bacon" (which they aren't) is actually called peameal (bacon) in Canada. But what Americans are actually referring to as "Canadian bacon" is some sort of roundish processed ham product. Completely different.
I always ask for runny yolk when I order this to make sure the mcmuffin is freshly made. You can also ask for the secret sauce (for big mac) or mayo (for chicken sandwich) to not be spread in. They'll put it in a gravy cup and you can make sure that it's freshly put together.
It was served at a California McDonalds. The owner of that McDonalds wanted to make a simple breakfast sandwich. It was basically an Eggs Benedict, only without the Hollandaise sauce. He showed it to Roy Croc and he loved it. And the rest is history.
One time I made the best burgers for a party and every single person loved it. They kept coming back for seconds and thirds. However, the only person that I was trying to impress came back and told me that it was "too oily", so now I'm traumatised from making anything that's between two buns. This video made me rethink that so I'm going to try it againl
That's because the person you wanted to impress was a health nut. You should have checked into that first. Do they even eat burgers? Find out what they like first, then how they life it prepared. Just like the food prepared in this video. I love the egg McMuffin, but if it had been cooked and served to me with that wet egg, I would have rejected it completely. I would not have even tried it.
I just watched the dino chicky nuggie vid and realized how we all just understand what Josh said when he talks like a child like me going “toit”, “cwipy”, and “fingies”
