I think it looks super awesome even if it's not perfect that's what makes it more better looking

I really like the imperfections caused by the hot brass not flowing properly

Man, I hate it when the cast doesn't fill in all the way, but like you said, sometimes it has a unique look to it.

So close... Based on the skim you showed, if you stick a longer handle on your spoon so you can scoop out dross while the crucible is still inside the hot furnace, it could probably save you a couple hundred degrees in lost heat. Good luck!
