I would put the items inside of a folder, and then for example if i wanted an item to only be obtainable in the past, i would put it inside of the past folder, and instead of destroying the past when you switch to the present, i would just move the past to replicated storage so if you picked something up, its picked up for good instead of being respawned when the map switches, i can write you some example code to better explain what i mean if you'd like :)

@@rkgam3zs Hey man thanks for the reply. I am a decent builder but very poor coder so I used chatgpt to make the script more like a time travel thingie where even players sharing the same game can just switch "times" and disappear from one another. However the issue with the items not picking up ONLY in either past or present still persists... I'd love some input if you feel inclined:) EDIT: I tried adding hostile NPCs to only present or past, and they do only "appear" in either one of them, but they can still attack you in the other instance, somehow...

could you paste all the code so I could take a look? sometimes roblox is just wack

You'd just remove all of the userinputservice stuff, move the script from starterplayer to startergui, and then add a button inside of the gui, i made a title screen tutorial, if you don't know how to add buttons and detect presses you can watch that, after you have the button and the code to detect activation just put all of the code besides the stuff related to userinputservice into the function, and it should work!
