Blind people can mentor students, the only thing they lack is sight, but they can still listen and guide the student through the obstacles of school, so you're a bit ableist with your comment there, 2. The girl was going to a school for the blind and deaf, so it makes an extra amount of sense that they would have a blind person mentor other blind people, because they can sympathize and understand the students lives better than a person with sight and/or hearing.

I live in a surbaban neighbourhood in Canada and my neighbourhood seems pretty ghetto for the suburbs. It's mostly the ppl that make it that way. There are break-ins, robberies, mental ppl, etc. in my neighbourhood. In fact, it's much worse. The cops are always here plus the adults in my neighborhood fight a lot. TL;DR my neighbourhood is messed up.
