Some "ordinary" for you all. I actually very much enjoy this style of photography and its actually alot harder to do at a high level. really using your eyes to capture the subtle things life shows you everyday that we are so used to we just walk right by it but willem sees all of it and does this style of photography very well

He does shoot "ordinary" things a lot. But he does it in his own way. Willem is the perfect example of what makes photography so beautiful. You get to see how HE sees these "ordinary" things. Thanks to both of you! You're both such different photographers but you're both amazing in your own ways

I live in the UK, I have a 9-5 in IT. Nothing about what you guys do is ordinary to me yet I feel like I can also relate to you guys in some way when I see the pictures you guys take or how you spoke about a composition looking one way from your eyes to another when you shoot it.

I like the wrapping up of this video. Also because I've been building a big backlog of photos of ordinary life in Belgium seen by a Brazilian immigrant, which I hope someday might become something worthy to other people. well, if not, whatever, but I've been having fun shooting how Belgian people live in smaller cities nice video

Willems subjects are usually plain, ordinary, you could even say mundane things but his composition and selection of film adds a charming and alluring "feel" to his work. That juxtaposition of ordinary subjects and that same "feeling" creates a refined and tasteful shots. It just hits right. Often times people strive to only shoot extraordinary subjects. Fashionable models, Impressive city skylines, outdoor scenery landmarks etc. Which is good too but in a different way. It's like the difference between listening to music that hypes you up vs music that speaks to you.

Next collab video you guys do I’m gonna take a shot every time someone says “ordinary” 😂. By the way I think part of the reason people love, not just his photos, but a few other photographers here on RU-vid, including yourself or Mike gray for example, is because we get to see some expression of the photographers personality, which to me adds a dimension to the photos themselves. And like you said, one persons ordinary isn’t the same as another’s. I can tell you Detroit is very fascinating from my eyes London.

at 4:36 i think the colors are so different because vuhlandes overexposes by a lot more than willlem, so the film emulsions get some kind of a colorcast... also the edit but still

Nothing wrong taking Images of ordinary stuff in your neighbourhood. It only takes some time for them to become special. Address your images to your future grandchildren in mind. That makes a big difference when you go out to shoot. My father did so in the 50s. Noway those images are ordinary to me today.
