Yes u can bur remember soyabean has got lots of amino acids than sunflower meaning better over growth for the chicken

100kgs of whole maize 100kgs of maize germ 50kgs of lime

The oil helps dissolve some vitamins in the feed that cant be absorbed by the chicken body

@@TheActuaryFarmer just a quick question. 2 years ago I started a Poultry Project, where I started with 600 layers it was in March and in Aug they started laying I was getting between 17 /19 trays of eggs per day, they did that fir about 3 months and in November during rain season they stopped laying slowly and eventually they all stopped. Feed be came a challenge, in January they contract Coryza and it was a disaster tried all kinds of antibiotics from vets nothing changed and in June I decided to clear the the whole cope, I' haven't introduced a new batch yet as I travelled to USA last year. Now am going back to Zimbabwe in 3 weeks and I would like to try a new approach. I want to introduced local breed chickens so called road runners. What advice will you give, start with none layers first as chick's then build up the flock or start with layers already. Much appreciated

The price of feeds are way over the roof right now . For example here in kenya the cost of producing an egg is 0.1 dollars and an egg is retailing for 0.13dollars as wholesale so you need lots of layers so as you can get something out of it not less 1000 birds but for the roadrunners you can rear them then sell them off at 3 months old for example the sasso breed which matures at 3 months for meat n will fetch same prices as the local chicken like here in kenya one can go for btn 6.5 to 8 dollars which is a faster return on investment i dont know of the zimbambwe market but consumption will be around 3.35 to 3.9usd so I think this will pay faster since most layers fully start laying in month 5 meaning you be almost selling your second batch just make sure you select the roosters only if you intent to rear for meat market

@@TheActuaryFarmer so what's your advice on my first batch,as am buying from different people, and mostly all of them are not vaccinated. How do I introduce them to build to a better number, how should I quarantine them??

Buy the roadrunners then you can buy the layers start with like 300 in number

Or use alternative which is using a concentrate
