When I use my cordless random orbital sander I have it hooked up to dust collection/vacuum. I tend to grab the the hose collet and use it like a handle. Obviously I can’t put as much pressure on it as a dedicated handle would. So I can totally see how this would be a game changer and I will be getting this soon……….good review

Ive owned a dozen differrent brand orbital sanders over the last 25 year building and repairing surfboards.Milwaukee being my last one before this makita. This one blows it away. Like ya said the double handle is so much nicer to use. Especially if your used to rotary sanders. The machine also operates smoother with less vibration. There are better random orbit styles than this one but theyre 3 times the price. For about $100 this makitas a lil more than other ones in its class but well worth it🤙.

I have a palm sander version of this. Basically the same without the 2 handles & variable speed. I'm extremely disappointed with the vacuum system. Blows dust out the sides and creates a mess, even when bag is clear. Is this some sort of defect?

Maybe it's a silly question... but can it be used vertically? Or is it only horizontal? I would like to sand a window, I would be very grateful if you answer me.

It sounds like a 2-stroke mini bike. Is it really that coarse sounding?

Will this sand off polyurethane on hardwood floors? I am debating on whether to get this or a belt sander. I just need it for the edges and corners of the floor.

I had a crappy hypertough ro sander for a few years and after this last project i decided I need a better sander so I just got the makita 5030k and wow what a difference. The cheap hypertough was my first ro sander and I didnt realize is was that crappy til I felt how much more powerful the makita is. The cheapy one bogged down and stopped spinning with the lightest of pressure

Can it buff finishes into wood? Wax onto my car? I'll never get around to waxing my car, but it's good to know a girl's options!
