Nice Video. I appreciate you testing with the hole saw, I read the statement about no hole saws and the torque limiter in the manual and was discouraged. 70mm is about 2.75 inches correct? As a Pipefitter we have to hole saw through similar materials, not usually 2x4's but sheet rock, thin metal etc.. Here in the U.S. this is model XRH05Z. Unfortunately we don't get the quick change chuck version here but there are several SDS to 1/2" chuck adapters available. I see there is a new combo kit available that includes the SDS drill, impact driver, three 4 amp hour batteries with fuel gauges, dual charger and contractor bag for $579. (M# XT258PMB)

+Scott Girardot You are correct with the measurement. You should have no problem drilling through what you want to drill through. I have used this for a few things now where I thought the limiter would kick in, but I have yet to experience it. Thanks for watching.

I bought one of these today from a guy for £80 bargain but no batteries or charger.... got to test it with his batteries, this thing is a beast!!!!!! i heard that the single 18v battery versions use up too much power, battery doesn't last.

hey mate be amazing if you could do a showdown between DHR242Z, DHR280ZJ the new 36v brushless and even the old 36v DHR264 in your video. on friday i got my hands on the DHR242Z with a sds normal drill chuck attachment and the boys at work where using it to drill 16mm holes through 270mm piles and it was terrible....got out my DHP481 and its performance was excellent, would be interesting seeing the DHR280ZJ go against the DDF481 in timber, as i see the DHR280ZJ has 3 speed settings be interesting how she goes with timber.

Thanks for these videos also been watching your more recent 40v battery video and it’s made me wonder if should opt for the dhr281 rather than the 40v hr004gz if this save having to buy different batteries and also that you mentioned discharge rate appears to be better from the cells in 18v batteries. Also would have more option of higher amp sizes with the 18v.

would this tool be good for mixing if attached a whisk to it??? i.e like mixing up plaster or sand + cement ??
@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL
@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL 5 лет назад
I don't think so as the torque limiter would probably kick in in such an application.

How much better is this than the 1 battery rotary hammer? Is it worth upgrading?
@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL
@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL 6 лет назад
Depends which single battery version you have, there are lots of them. If you have the Brushless 18v then I wouldn't bother as this is one is only slightly better. If you have one of the others then this is much better. The single battery brushed models are rated from 16mm to 20mm, whereas the twin battery is rated to 26mm so has much more grunt if you need to drill big holes in concrete.

@chengliu872 6 лет назад
Tools & Stuff: I believe it is brushed (I assume so as it doesn't say brushless). It is the one that resembles a reciprocating saw. It is rated for 7/8", I believe that is around 22mm.
@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL
@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL 6 лет назад
Well I wouldn't bother then unless you want to drill holes between 22 and 26mm, or want a longer run time.

Tools & Stuff: I agree, If I needed to drill a hole of that size often, I would consider getting the even larger rotary hammer (the one that uses an SDS Max bit). Thanks for the advice.

The holesaw looks like its not designed to clear the sawdust so its bound to overheat and jam.

Hole saws aren’t for rotary hammers. You wouldn’t use a Hole Hawg for drilling masonry, either.
@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL
@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL 6 лет назад
I wasn't using it in hammer mode and it comes with a standard chuck, unlike a Hole Hawg which does not have Hammer mode... so your point is... pointless.

Show me anyone in the trades using a rotary hammer with a hole saw. I'll wait. Pros use the right tool for the right job.
@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL
@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL 6 лет назад
You are turning this into something it isn't. I was just seeing if it could do it, not suggesting tradies should use this instead of a hole hawg. And besides, Hole Hawgs are not very common downunder with most guys on sites using a hammer/combi drill for auger bits and hole saws. Pros also use the most convenient tool at hand at the time.
@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL
@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL 6 лет назад
LOL, What a hypocrite you are. I just watched your impact driver video, you are clearly using a tool for a job it shouldn't be doing, you even say so in the vid! Not only that it is a 7 year old driver (That's what you say) and looks brand new! You are not a tradie, so stop talking shit.
@G5Hohn

That video was a particular response showing someone that it COULD be done, not that is SHOULD be. But you probably don't grasp the difference.
