I have a husqvarna 3120K 16" saw with the 119cc 9.2hp engine and I ordered a 60mm piston/ring/cylinder kit on ebay for $85 and installed it easy, just 4 screws right on the top of the head so very easy to get to. I ported the muffler outlet and added a 2nd exhaust tip and this saw is an absolute beast now. Only problem is it weighs 44lbs since it's a racine rail products ultra kut 2 16" saw but it costs $2900 and I bought it for only $40 non running and greasy and rusty. Took it home and added some 2 stroke mix and fuel immediately started shooting out of the fuel line. Replaced the fuel line and fuel filter and it started right up so I washed it, removed all of the rust and polished it up real good and now it looks tough and runs very strong. This saw is so big that it's impressive to look at just sitting on the floor of my office. I only use it to play with around the house cutting metal so I run it with the top cover off and a k&n air filter on it because the muffler, head and carb are so huge on this saw that it looks better with no top cover. I have only $160 total tied up in this saw including the $40 for the saw, the piston kit and a few cosmetic parts so I'm very happy with it.
@@DoesntHurtYet Wrong. The TS800 has more depth of cut, more power, and takes exactly the same blades as the K970. Stihl's cost more but they give up nothing performance-wise to anyone else.
@@BlownF150 151mm depth of cut for the ts800 vs the 155mm depth on the current 970. sorry mate, they give up their own blades if its worn down a few mm
Are you kidding ? Solo, Makita and Sthil have the highest vibrations level of all powercutters on Earth. Why you didn’t gave real informations about the security of the users ?
Love your videos! Thanks! Question, on average, what would you say is the lifetime for Husqvarna 750, 760 or 770? Would you gauge that on approx hours used per week and how many years you've had them?
Great job reviewing all the different concrete saws! This is a great, informative video! I'm thinking about getting that Solo 880. What are your thoughts on that one? Power -weight, balance, water system, ease of starting. Now that you've owned it for awhile, what are your thoughts on it?
was wondering myself where the stihl saws are , I fnd the Husqvarna saws are weak on the engine bodies the side the belt runs , they break the casing for a past time , unlike the stihls which you can just replace the belt housing , on the Husqvarna's you have to replace the whole engine casing , which are matched , so you have to replace both sides , just my opinion ,
There is no need to replace the whole engine casting, you don't even have to disassemble that much as long as you have a tig welder. I've welded multiple magnesium Husqvarna crankcases, haven't seen any problems with them after welding
What are the best diamond blades for 14inch cut off saw , to cut blocks .. i go through blades pretty quick . What would you suggest i use a stihl ts 420 demo btw .
Interesting video. I bought a Makita quick cut the first week they came out in Canada in the 90's I believe. And it was a partnership with Dolmar or something like that. When I got it to the job site I spent two hours trying to get it started. I took it right back and bought a partner. The salesman said that maybe it had to do with elevation settings in carb because it was built overseas. I called bullshit in that and obviously over twenty years later and they still can't figure out how to make a saw start. Long live Partner vicariously through Husqvarna!
I have a special project - I need to cut channels in rock outcroppings in fairly inaccessible canyons. I would make small parallel cuts then take a hammer and chisel and break the channels in the rock so I can collect representative samples to send to a laboratory and analyse for gold. I would normally use a 1 lb sledge and a tungsten chisel by themselves but these rock outcroppings are very hard, like granite, cut by quartz veins. So if I used a saw to make the parallel cuts I would need something lightweight because I have to pack it in and out on foot trails, also the surfaces to cut and to stand on are not flat. If I have to use water on the sawblades I will need to use some sort of pressure tank (which several manufacturers make) to feed water to the saw. Has anyone got any recommendations? 2 stroke or 4 stroke, 12 inch or 14 inch blades, etc?
thx. the ring saw seems to be too much machine for what I need to do. Probably going to purchase a Husqvarna K760 or Makita EK761 as those are the only 2 models I can find right now. Purchase being made in Mexico, we don't have a lot of choice.....
