@HamTechRadioScannerDrones hi mate. Can you recommend me some antenna to try? Not sure if you can put links on a reply here, but if you can, ebay, Amazon, Ali Express etc. I'm in Belfast so I'll probably need all the help I can get signal wise
It’s a very complex receiver and the manual is full of technical jargon so I’m fumbling along with you trying to understand. But the excellence of the device is well worth the effort. Great review. I’d like to exchange the top tuning knob with the better substitute one, but am afraid of pulling the old off. What do you think?
Very simple, just pull straight up..The only thing I ran into was the fact that the replacement looks like it is missing the friction fit, it's there, just not visible like the knobs it arrives with..
As far as I am aware, the missing frequencies on this device (380-400Mhz) are not due to a software block, but are the result of a hardware/design limitation and as such cannot be hacked without extensive modifications to the RF front-end
I put my stand the other way up, so it folds out from the bottom, that way you can stand it at an angle if you're sat at a desk for example. Either works, but it means I can have it angled rather than straight up.
Every time I see a toy I want, you beat me to it! But the benefit is, I know how to use it by the time it arrives because of your vids. Question: Have you poked around inside yet? How easy is it to replace the battery?
I got my one a week ago from banggood. I am Learning fast on how to use it .i wanted to change the volume and frequency knobs, how do you do it? I tried pulling but they dont budge they are hard set and i dont want to risk breaking something so gave up. Can you tell what battery is installed from the menu? If so where? Thanks. Good videos keep it up.
Bluetooth is an option included in the software for other models and requires an optional board to be installed.. I just use an inexpensive Bluetooth transmitter connected to the headphone jack, works well..
I'm not getting much at all with the supplied antenna except commercial FM band 88-108 Mhz and the odd receive on Air band. Can you tell me where you got that rubber duck type aerial from ? The one that came with my radio is the telescopic type.
I think they are nice but the cost is over priced for a reciever that is mainly sdr now. and aliexpress and non us shipping your lucky if you get it at all
I have one here in the states and some bands are excellent or at least good. But our VHF weather channels don't come in as well on this radio as on several other radios I have that get our NOAA weather band. Of my Uniden SDS200 desktop scanner, my Uniden BC125AT (handheld scanner) and my Yaesu VX-6R amateur ham transceiver, they all get our local NOAA weather station on VHF 162.550mHz better than this Malahit. Mine is exactly like in the video with update 2.40 also.
Have you figured out how to turn off the friking "Beep" sounds and even better the annoying CW when you turn off the radio? ahh, drives me nuts when I am on a quiet room.
