Yes, I always use milk powder but I also keep frozen store bought khoya for some recipe but I like the taste better when I prepare fresh khoya at home.
Thanks so much. I will definitely try to make them. For another design, my mom uses the end of a spool of thread. When you peel off the paper at the bottom, there is a nice design there too. Thanks again.
Actually bura sugar is used in india which is made with special procedure. Sugar is boiled till it gets little thick and then when cool down, it gest hard and that hard sugar is then ground and used in peda but If not, I suggest to use icing or fine granulated sugar.
Wow im ggng to tryout today itself .. Whipping cream is same tht we use to cakes decoration rite bhavana .... Also can we use cooking cream or .... Kindly reply back

Then also i tried ur recipe yesterday. and my dad loved it.. it was his b'day yesterday. thank you for sharing dis recipe
Half & half is just milk with more fat and whipping cream is removed from milk after boiling so more thick and fat so it is used in cakes as a topping and for many other desserts as well.
Hi Bhavna, I am getting used to watching each one of your recipes. They look so delicious and easy to make. I particulary liked this video on making of peda - what I liked was the offering you make to GOD before any serving ..because I do the same....so many videos out there on indian cooking but no one even mentions any offering to GOD for any sweet dish made....thanks for sharing...I will keep watching....:)
hello bhavana, thanxs for sharing this recipe. please tell what i use instead of cream because i m living in indonesia here cream is not available or how to make cream at home.
Hi Bhavana, Thank you for the wonderful recipe. Could you even please post the recipe for thabdi penda, I really want to make that for a special occasion. Waiting for your reply

Hi Bhavna. Just a liittle suggestion for your peda. I use a wsahed clean empty thread spool. Just press lightly on the peda ball.it looks like from the sweet store.
I love pedas and used to finish full box as a child :) Thanks for this recipe Bhavna - can you show us a easy recipe for making creamy mac n cheese? Like how we get in kids menu in Olive Garden! ..lol
great thx! , one more question i just literally tried this out but with condensed milk, (less than half a cup condensed milk + abt half a cup of milk powder) and it burned very fats, was very thick in less than minute, do u have an idea of how to not to make it burn so fast? (so it does not thick in less than a minute?)
Which sugar did you use? Granulated? In UK, you can get standard granulated, but it's like little grains, it won't dissolve so i was thinking of using icing /powdered sugar... Will that be okay?
Hi Bhavnaji, This recipe is very nice & easy also i tried it, but i don't know i put sugar after it's got cold but feel sugar crystal in it can u please tell me what is my mistake? I want to make this peda for Rakshabhandhan....! for my brother u can understand my feeling..... Thanks

hi Bhavna...i made it today....i took half cup wheaping cream n one cup milk powder....i hv measuring cup....but wn one spoon ghee heated n i added wheeping cream (which i uses as cake topping after beating).....this cream is in liquid foam n gets thicker wn beat.....so wn i add up as maintained measure, the mixture got thicker not runny as yrs in yr video..... i added sm milk into it to adjest n then cook it but i m not satisfied with result......my question is, when i did wrong n did i choose wrong ingredients?
Hi Bhavna, If I make mawa out of cow milk, can I keep it in the fridge and use it the next day for making pedas? I want to make pedas out of only mawa, sugar, cardamom and ghee.
hi Bhavna ....on behalf of Prashant Upadhyay(as he is my husband...n the post was done by me but from his account) .....the mixture bcm thick as it was not possible to cook it without adding milk so i added milk ......but is it the same whipping cream which i m using as cake topping????
I made this peda two times with full cream milk powder,it turned out so good. But today I use nonfat milk powder after adding bura it become like powder and unable to make peda. Then I add some sugar syrup to this mixture,it become like soft dough and finally I manage to make pedals like before.
+Dipti Upadhyay hum.. That's really strange because I have to cook longer to make it thick, I guess u can save cooking time, just sauté with ghee and taste, if good, just go ahead with rest of the procedure.
