Next time please come during Ramadan (you can experience so many good foods during Ramadan's bazaar) and experience Eid here too! Or in August we have parade and celebration for Independance Day. We're so happy to have both of you here again. Thanks for coming and enjoy the rest of your trips wherever it may be. - Love, Malaysia.

To be honest as a Malaysian, Penang is overrated as a food heaven in Malaysia as Penang is heavily predominantly Malaysian Chinese same like Ipoh in Perak (the 2nd largest city after Kuala Lumpur). Kuala Lumpur is more vibrant and mixed of all sorts of local cuisines (Malay, Chinese, Indian and Indian Muslims (mamak) and international cuisines as it is more metropolitan; Middle Eastern, Korean, Japanese, Italian, etc. For authentic Malay; East Coast of Malaysia has more varieties; Kelantan and Terengganu. in Kuala Lumpur, Alor Street (Jalan Alor) mostly Malaysian Chinese food and other South East Asian especially Thai food. For Indian food, at Brickfield of Little India and Malay food mostly at Kampung Baru. For laid back islands definitely east coast islands are more relaxing; Perhentian, Redang, Kapas, Tioman. In the west coast of Malay Peninsular; Langkawi and Pangkor not too bad and less touristy compared to Bali or islands in Thailand eg. Phuket.
