The most highly educated, full of wisdom, gentleman, family man, has great leadership, charismatic, and a decendant from thousand years old bloodline Sultan, is the Sultan of Perak. Sultan Nazrin Shah. While the oldest kingdom (sultanate) in Malaysia as well as one of the oldest royal house in the world, is the royal family of Kedah, the Sultan of Kedah. Both are Sultanates in Malaysia.
@@alphestanley7194 a lil bit late here but allow me to correct some facts on your statement dear sir. 1. Before Ayutthaya emerged, Kedah already one of the old empire stretching from present day Segenting Kra to northern Perak and become a sultanate in 1200's. 2. Yes, Kedah was annexed by Siam. More than once actually. During Anglo-Siamese Treaty in 'Perang Musuh Bisik', Siam annexed Kedah in the 1800's yet later in the same century, the Sultanate regain his states back through war and diplomacy. During WW2, Siam annexed Kedah back with help of the Japanese before forced to release Kedah in the 1900's by the Brits. 2. Siam NEVER annexed Perak. They only managed to annex Perlis, Kelantan, Kedah, Terengganu and Pattani but not Perak bcs British have a lot to lose in Perak i.e mining industry, business with the locals which controlled by the Perak sultanate. 3. Yes, Malacca falls after the Portuguese attack but its continuation is the Sultanate of Johor, covering present Pahang, Johor, the Riau archipelago and some states in the west Sumatra. And Johor never get annexed by any foreign power even in WW2, the Japanese only use its military base out of respect with the recognition of the Japan's Emperor to the sultan of Johor. So by saying 'these' Sultans only exists bcs of foreign pity is overstatement. I assuming ur not Malaysian so I hope this clear some of the error. We do not gain independence bcs they feel pity to us, we work very hard with bloods and tears like everyone else so have some respect. Have a good day

Look, I'm not even malay. But that last question... I mean, its called "Malaya" for a reason. Its their land. Their ancestor has rule and held power since the very beginning. Its their decision to do whatever their believe is right including recognise the immigrant as part of their people. So, as an immigrant, being recognise by the landlord is already more than enough and you should be greatful for that. Stop asking for more, for god sake and come to your sense. Don't be influence by American immigrant tradition. If it's not them (the malay), you'd be depoted back to your motherland after the World War 2 end. With that thick accents, asking those question... And stop saying a stupid point like "it is god land" or "everyone is an immigrant" or "we want equal treat". Say that to Thailand monarch I dare you. Jeez
we love this kind of malaysian mindset, we as malays also treat and consider non bumiputera as our own families. screw all those toxic political beliefs. let all malaysian live happily peace in unity and harmony
I think the monarch existence is important as a check and balance for the political systems. They are important to maintain peace in case of political turbulance as the Royal Army is only loyal to the king. So no politician can exploit the military force and that will prevent loses of thousands of lives. Just look at what happen to Egypt and India
You are absolutely right. Like previous election, the Kings had carried out a meeting to give advise to all political parties after the result of last election is hung pariment.
The answer is yes for the question at the end of the video. Daulat Tuanku Daulat Tuanku Daulat Tuanku. Your Majesty sovereignty over Malaysia is acknowledged. If a Malaysian doesn't respect their own King, then they can find another country to live. Be it Malay, Chinese, Indian or others.
Sultan were no longer relevant. This country doesn't belong to them, anyone who don't like monarchy system have every right to live like any other Malaysians.
But as long as the country is in harmony with the Sultans and its people. Respecting each other as it should be then please continue. Even the Prophet respected the Sultan back in days.

Actually, Malay Royals have more power, they are needed to sworn in new Prime Ministers, and have a say in electing State's governor (or "Menteri Besar"). They also have a say in many of State's matters that involve Islamic & Malay identity; such as able to veto decision for language used in Street sign & Commercial signboard, as well as able to have a say in Islamic practice of the state. Without the Malay Royals, it would be easy for Malaysia to sway away from Islam, into secular & republic ideology, as Politician have a variety of opinion; some are secular, some are Islamic, and push Malaysia into random direction.
Also, note that Malaysia is governed by 3 different race, these are *majority* race, not 1. Neither is assimilated, they have different ideology, culture, and perception of values. Without the Malay Royals, Malaysia can easily change. So Politician is no use to keep identity, need the Malay Royals.
@@msafwan3010 the, Malaysian identity will still survive even without the sultans. Dan pasal agama Islam, kite boleh je isytiharkan sebuah Republik Islamik macam Pakistan, kite x perlu raja2 untuk mengekalkan martabat Islam di negara ni.

Because from the old days, each state is a Kingdom. When the british take control of malaya, the sultan became a puppet to the british until tunku abdul rahman, the first prime minister of Malaysia announce our independence.
Nice to see more Right-wing (or center left) monarchist. I think biggest misconception world-wide (by 'Liberals') is that a monarch has to behave perfectly like someones dog. The monarch is there not as a pretty thing to look at but to hold a cultural + family value while challenging the government.
And Yamtuan is elected democratically by each leader (Undang) of districts in N9 state. Honestly Malaysia should ditch the Walmart Westminster system and use Undang election system. Uphold Malay values and identity... that’s right, that’s the real job for Malay royals in Malaysia. But these royals seem to forget this and go on and live un-Malay lifestyles and also marrying white people. Sure people can marry whoever they want regardless of race but if you notice, the kind of other race partners these royals chose are always whites, I’ve never heard of Malay royals marry, say, Bangladeshis, Chineses, Arabs or so on. Something tells me these royals have some kind of a fetish towards whites
True..they are also are not practicing malay and islamic lifestyle..before this, there was a viral issue about malay prince don't know how to speak malay
Last question should be NO. Malays since born were taught to love and worship the Rajas and Sultans. But these Rajas and Sultans were the ones who sign Malayan Union decades ago. The power of the people that brought down the union. Not the Rajas and Sultans. Rajas and Sultans don't even work, live in comfortable lifestyle and lavish palace while many of the people still struggling to live.
Factually inadequate statement there. When the Federal constitution was drafted, the Sultans had agreed and sworn to protect the Malays interest & welfare and do what is necessary for the Malays' economy, education and values. They were the ones that gave out their money to sponsor the Malays' scholarship studies back in the day when the Malays were far lagging behind. Yes, the Sultans are still humans like the rest of us and the 'imperfections' they do such as involvement wih women and alchohol are still like what common rakyats caught up with. Those things are not okay, but we still pray for them to repent, right? Furthermore, it is how they carry out their duty that gives effect to us all. In fact, I sometimes find the common rakyat who declare themselves as living in poverty and misery are more tak sedar diri... some of them still go around gambling, hanging out at coffee shops, doing nothing instead of working to cari rezeki. If they do have income, they spend it on worthless stuff and before they knew it, monet gone. No wonder they feel poor. One more thing, the royals do GO TO WORK.
Who worship Rajas and Sultans? I have been in Malaysia for many years but I have never heard that Malays worship Rajas and Sultans. Such silly statement is rather an attempt to mock the Malay culture.
if you don't like the system in this country, maybe you should go back to India. Never forget, this land already established with Malay's rulers system long ago.. Before your ancestors arrive here
