So, I was Going through the comment section and reading some comments, and came across some comments from our neighbours saying that Malaysian food are 'copies' and 'unoriginal', and we claim everything. Well to clear up the confusion, allow me to explain. Malaysia is made up of various ethnic groups who have lived in harmony ( for the most part ) for many many centuries. Therefore, our cuisine is a unique blend of Chinese, Malay and Indian flavours, and other minority groups as well. (Kadasandusun, Melanau, Iban, etc.) You might ask, "So, is it Malay? Chinese? or Indian?" It's neither. It's all 3 mixed into one shebang. Food from every ethnic group is influenced by one another, creating this unique and heavenly flavour, and that, is Malaysian Food, which makes us one of the best places in the world for food. If you have time, please, I suggest you take a trip down to Malaysia and experience it for yourself. Peace. Ps; forgot to mention that a lot of spices used in Malaysian cuisines are also used in many different countries in the SEA Region, which explains the similarities in the different types of food. Have a nice day!
Betul tu bro...rakyat malaysia hidup berbilang kaum.itu yg membuatkan malaysia unik dgn pelbagai makanan yg sedap.wa pun tak faham kenapa sesetengah negara nk claim yg makanan di malaysia adalah makanan bukan asal malaysia..asia tenggara...indonesia,thailand,singapore semua lebih kurang sama je makanan.cuma berbezanya adalah cara hidangan itu dibuat...
Melaka was a major center of trade from the 1300s through the 1800s. Indian, Arab, Chinese, European, and various Southeast Asian people converged on Melaka as a central trading port. It's no surprise Malaysian food is fusion food.
Well many food does have the same origin in SEA just treat it as family member of the same food tree Stop fighting and just enjoy good food offer by various nation is great enough what matter is deliciousness and everyone personal taste
Malacca is well known in our Malaysian History because it was believed that this is the place where Malay Ruler as we call Sultan (King) established His empire. He is called Parameswara and later converted to Muslim and known as Sultan Iskandar Shah. The name Malacca was inspired when Parameswara landed for the first time and rest under the Malacca tree. Malacca is well known for Asam Pedas Dish and i strongly suggest you try most famous Kuih Keria Hjh Rahmah located in Limbongan Street (be patient as sometime it will be a long que)
Mark even though this video is 3 years old, I just love them and I want to thank you for inviting so many others to your family's dining adventures. Thank you my young brother.
I'll be there in a couple of weeks, for 3 months. I was brought up on Malaysian food, mostly in Borneo but haven't been since 1978. I am so excited and your videos are absolutely FAB! Thankyou so much.
Malaysians, they just don't eat bland food, do they? All the food has such intense colours and probably taste too. Your son is growing fast!!!! because of all the food, I'm sure :D
I agree with Iqbal tatti...he adds no additional dimension...he follows Mark’s comments but rephrases it...and his laughter is soo goofy like and irritating. He always try to be in the frame when Mark holds the camera...and he wastes my time...
Ying I'm telling let little Micah go already lol... I swear he's going to be 21 n still in your arms 🙈🐵🙊 you are such a phenomenal mommy god bless you🙏
come over to Sarawak, try the linut, tebaloi, sarawak laksa, kolok mee, pansuh, kek lapis, fresh tinduh, tuak, langkau also lots of things i cant think of listing and experience the culture during festive season.
It's sad that such an insanely wholesome channel has so many hate comments for Joel. He's a harmless, pleasant guy who doesn't deserve all your hateful comments honestly.
Hey mark I hope u will visit Sabah which is a country at Malaysia... At Sabah there are lot of local traditional food you must try... Such as hinava, bambangan, sinagol, tojok and many more... Hope you will come to Sabah.. ☺
side tracking: my friend told me that there is a rumour that in johor bahru those tent based satay lok lok stalls will take customer's remaining sauce and add it back to their cooking pot of satay sauce. is that any true? I'm not hating or anything. Malaysia is really a food paradise that is worth going back to again and again.
Batman = Mark & Robin = Joel, that is the feeling for me ;) But sometimes you want to see only Batman because Robin is insignificant lol. But I like you joel.
Tengok kpd reaksi mark wiens tu nampaknya makanan yg dia makan tu biasa je. Bagi yg rekemen tmpat makan kpd mark wiens ni tolongla tunjuk kedai yg makanan pelik2+padu+sedap, bukan kali pertama dia mai malaysia ni wei. Setakat ikan bakar, coconut shake, ayam rebus thailand indonesia pun ada. Tapi episode gulai tempoyak tu mmg trbaik, makanan terbaik dunia bagi dia.
tula fasal, reaction muka dia nampak macam dia try hard untuk buat review yang sopan fasal makanan tu,mungkin tak kena dengan citarasa dia yang suka makanan pedas berdesing
@@miqyyla8327 mark dia suka makan pedas..dia suka lauk yang masam.tu pasal dia tak suka coconut shake sebab dia manis. Mark banyak ambik candangan orang, cuma kadang2 dia kena lah sopan, sebab dia ni Food Vlogger je,bukan Food expert.
Mark wiens,I always ❤ to watch ur videos...Since u in Malacca, please try Chilli Crab in Portuguese Settlement👍. Assam Pedas Fish eggs is good too Mark..should try it
I always enjoy my assam pedas meal with piping hot rice, extra assam pedas gravy and sweet soy sauce. There are different recipe to cook assam pedas but in Malacca, they put torch ginger flower as an ingredient. You got very good tongue, sir 👍 Coconut shake is combination of coconut water, coconut meat, vanilla ice cream and ice been blender together. Like frappucino.
I think Joel makes Marks shows interesting. Please dont hate on him. You could hurt his feelings. I remember when Mark use to bend his head way over and carry on about the taste of the food. People were so critical about it and made fun. He doesnt do it so much now.
We love Joel🤗 and obviously he is a great loyal friend who treks all over the world with Mark. How many of our friends would do the same. The people who post hurtful comments about Joel don't respect mark yet they praise mark for his respect towards other cultures. I wish mark would block them but he's so nice and respectful to those idiots
@@pakcikharmanshah1453 bukan bro, dia pelik dgn jurang perbezaan antara biasa dan SPECIAL cuma tambah ais krim je, patut tulis 'coconut shake with ice cream' gitu pun cukup dah.
