US do have Multiple Defense pact with multiple countries in Asia, they are Bond by contract to protect nations if it's attacked. One of whom is Philippines, which was part of US at one point of time. What people don't understand about Malaysia foreign policy is that, Malaysia see the benefit of China and USA both exist. There cannot be either one. China is there to keep US in check, and US is there to do the same. ASEAN countries are not neutral, the Malayan Emergency, Vietnam war proves that. It's simply more beneficial to not choose a side at the moment, but if things spiral downward, there is no doubt that Malaysia will side with ASEAN and Commonwealth countries. Malaysia is part of FDPA defence agreement, all of FDPA countries are Democratic countries. Malaysia is not pro-China or USA, she is pro-Malaysia.
