It is indeed a lovely uncomplicated tune. Like so much of Malcolm Arnold's work, an excellent piece of accompanying film music that stands on its own beyond the silver screen. An amazingly productive composer and underrated like so many composers of this genre.. But transcends into more serious classical styles, always unique, memorably melodic and beautifully orchestrated. Thanks for the comment Deal, there must be room on RU-vid for many more Malcolm Arnold themed videos....although there are quite a few, and also a thriving Facebook page with a devoted following! Exactly, and remains under-appreciated after three complete recorded cycles of symphonies, much of film music, his concerti, chamber music, etc. I know he was a difficult man, but he deserves better.
