Ah that's interesting. Never realized it till I see the man take a knee. These animals interpret a man standing up straight as a rival, because standing up straight implies being offensive. That's why the kangaroo calms down as soon as Malcolm squats down; he's no longer perceived as being confrontational. Very interesting. They project their own kangaroo reality on to the human. So to avoid conflict, just make yourself look smaller?
So many issues with this; the man is drunk, it looks like a pub fight, the random ahhhhhhhh was hilarious, the “playing” with the dog and him kissing the kangaroo who looks like a man dressed up 😂
Malcolm is in control of the situation, it's not something you can do without experience. This man is a legend used to be a crocodile killer has killed hundreds of them. He knows how to manage danger with animals. You don't, don't try this.

I was face to face with the red kangaroo when I went to Australia they're so adorable but you got to be careful you got to always just give them their space

I think humans are awed mostly by its relative height compared to average humans, by the human-like muscular arms, chest and by the upright control using its tail.
Fun fact: A kangaroo can use their hind legs to rips your instestines straight out of your belly with their claws. You should never approach this animal in the wild.
@@alfa-psi yes, here in Australia we have zoo's with walk-in kangaroo & wallaby enclosures. Since they've been bred with humans around, they are safe to approach. If you ever visit Aus, I'd encourage you to check it out.

Malcolm Douglas. He's been dead for some time now, killed when he was crushed by his own car against a tree. He made fantastic documentaries from the 1960's to the 80's of his outback adventures.
