Akiri seems like a cool partner as well - go treasure tribal with smothering tithe/anointed procession, then play ghirapur aether grid and mechanized production. Also, Akiri will be huge. Great video!

Love this video! You delivery is spot on. Very easy to follow and you sound genuinely interested and excited for this archetype. Best thing about the pirates is you can get a boat load of cards to test in the archetype for like 100bucks.

Have you considered Dargo, the Shipwrecker? Treasure is super efficient with him.

Going to partner him with Vial Smasher. Gives access to all the best pirates while making treasures to cast big spells for vial smasher triggers

Have you considered Sakashima for Malcolm? Yes you lose a color, but doubling treasure triggers is very powerful, the decks ends up playing less on the pirates theme, and focuses on really utilizing the mana Malcolm provides. You get to run a bunch of clone effects for sakashima.

What are your thoughts on Gor Muldrak, Amphinologist? Idk why but I got really excited when I saw him. Amphin Mutineer is so cool! I just wanna bounce it. Idk how much group hug ill go but maybe ill focus on giving my opponents crappy creatures like using forbidden orchard or something.

Well since it doesn't draw you cards and it's Simic it must be trash, right? Lol just messin. He seems crazy cool! Honestly, I don't have the best mind for those types of decks. I'll bet Griffin could make a sick Gor deck. It's super unique and I know there are good ways to break it and good ways to just have fun with it. Old weird cards like Unnatural Selection and Peer Pressure come to mind.

Which will be the better choice for a pirate tribal edh deck? This guy and breeches or Becket Brass?

Hmm... that's a tough one. Having black is SOOOO good but I think that Malcolm is a much more interesting commander than Beckett Brass. That's why I am personally going with Vial Smasher and Malcolm because I rate having black with Malcolm higher than the synergy with Breeches. But depends on how competitive you want to make the deck I think. Final thoughts, for Pirate Tribal I would lean more towards Beckett Brass. For a more competitive or combo deck more towards Malcolm. What do you think and what would you rather play? -Kaleb

@@CommandValley Thank you so much for your answer. Having black really is nice, especially the synergy with Revel in Riches. I'm not a really competitive player (I really like janky stuff, like Mycosynth Lattice+Treasure Nabber), and our group is pretty casual. Also, since I am a really big pirate fan in general and I like tribes, I will probably stick with Becket Brass. Thank you again for your time and have a nice day.

@@awesomehatman2909 Glad I could help! I'd still throw Malcolm into pretty much any pirate deck so try him out in the 99 of your Beckett Brass deck. I love pirates too and have been waiting for just a liiittle extra support and this set has done it for me. :) I've had Beckett Brass sitting in a "Commands I Want To Build" box since I pulled it at the prerelease but didn't end up going Grixis. @@CommandValley I did the deck looks really fun unfortunately I’m new to magic and 500 is way to much for me to spend on a deck 😢 I’ll have to try and figure out a budget way to build this

Thanks for the response, I'm glad you were able to find it :) The deck that Kaleb built for the video is particularly tuned up. If I were you I would recommend taking out the really high costed stuff for cheaper alternatives (these cards alone make up about $200 of the deck and are not vital for the deck to function): Demonic Tutor Expropriate Toxic Deluge Rhystic Study Sakashima of a Thousand Faces Hullbreacher Dockside Extortionist Cyclonic Rift Remember that the most important things are the combo pieces, so any of these value pieces can be swapped out for something more budget. You’re fine! You’ve got loads of options. Toxic Deluge and Cyclonic Rift are board wipes, so find some more budget options that do about the same thing. Hullbreacher and Dockside Extortionist both make lots of treasures, so you could replace them with other ramp pieces or different pirates. Demonic Tutor can be replaced for Diabolic Tutor for pretty cheap, Sakashima is a clone spell and can be replaced by Spark Double, Rhystic Study and Expropriate are both good blue pieces that you can swap for extra turn spells and other card draw. There are loads of options, so look around and see what you like! - Peter
