My mother went through torture raising four children all born within five years of each other as my father spent 20 years to the day in the navy! Thank you for the last remarks about military families, especially women. My grandfather was in WWI and for all the rest of his life had sleep disturbance so intense that he thrashed, screamed, punched out, fought every night in his sleep and no one could even sleep in the same room. This was PTSD unrecognized, at that time, and my dear grandmother simply dealt with it lovingly. Heroic in her own right. I dearly loved them both.

@@lt2246 As I'm sure you are aware, there is a huge difference between Socialism and democratic socialism. I hope you will do a little reading on the subject. As for the democrat party moving back to a more moderate position, if you take a good look at our history and political policies, you will see that the spectrum has swung very far to the right. Today's democrats are actually like 1950s Eisenhower republicans. In our own Democratic Republic, small s, socialism has saved the capitalists from their own folly and greed. From our beginnings we have always used our wealth for the benefit of all our citizens. As we see all around us, as usual, there are those who divert our resources to benefit themselves, this includes, capitalist-socialism of the current era.. One criminal act forces us to accommodate for the misery it created. With no accountability, this circle will never end. The criminal, capitalist failure of 2008, was never prosecuted. Much the same can be said for the Nazis and Bolsheviks of the Cold War. Our “capitalist” criminals use our wealth to destroy and steal from our neighbors and destroy our young soldiers lives. Given their hands in our citizens pockets their proclamations of virtue are very rancid indeed.

When I saw folks wearing tee shirts saying I'd rather be a Russian than a Democrat...knew my conservative grandparents, my father were rolling over in their graves. The former immigrated from autocratic dictatorships to seek out the freedom to be had in America to raise their children. My father continued to be conservative, but he learned through his parents the difference of how *The People* are treated within this nation compared to his parents countries of origin, especially when in crisis, the great depression just one example.
