I just finished the audiobook and just knew that Malcolm would not be able to get through the interview without name dropping his favourite things: pumped hydro and energy storage. One thing about his book: it was just so refreshing to hear a politician talk about ideas and innovation with intelligence and enthusiasm. I have to say the one thing that impressed me most was Malcolm’s enduring energy, depression notwithstanding. Also, his ability to be fairly objective and even handed about those who did him in. Could have been a really good thing for Australia to have him at the helm for another term.

Love it - should be so many more ‘small l’ Liberals!! 👏👏 Lest we forget Julie Bishop’s endorsement and long standing friendship - keep pushing M!!

Really enjoying his book. His vision and intelligence was not appreciated. The egos in the room could not be tamed - Australia and the Liberal party hurt for that. I felt Julie Bishop was best suited to be the next leader over Morrison, and more deserving. That woman was incredibly diplomatic, fierce and compassionate, a difficult balance to develop.

Turnbull saying he is not vindictive is a bit like Stalin saying he does not really like purging people.

The one line that shows Malcolm is a Liberal - believing that people are actually EVER rational... I'm looking forward to reading the book.

He suited Prime Minster, he was unpopular and isn’t very known today but he was pretty good

Amazing to all that Malcolm has to twist the arms of Liberals to accept the need for diversity and free speech for all. However as an SWF production I remain shocked that Menzies is quoted "It is the duty and indeed privilege of those in Wentworth to put forward only candidates of cabinet timber for Canberra. 1:00:25 - that was a good question by annabel. morrison is in a much better position than turnbull inside the party because he is invincible after the miracle election win, the rules have been changed so its virtually impossible for him to be overthrown but more importantly he is not PM because he is relying on dutton and cormann as turnbull was.

... and how she turns are sprints for the door when the name 'Murdoch' is uttered.

I think this book shows why Turnbull wanted a republic: so he could be President of Australia for Life! After all as his memoir shows, he is perfect and everyone else is a moron, traitor etc.

... I can see hop in that company anybody would feel superior. Morrison etc are our low-rent, tin pot Trumpers. Turnbull failed to notice he was fighting in the gutter and they beat him with experience.

Crabb is so over-rated. Issues like Turnbull explains at 1:00:00 (how the far right has taken over conservative parties here and in the US (and UK as I write this)) are lost on her. Turnbulls prediction (1:07:00) that a 'devastating electoral defeat' would change them did not come to pass. The broad currents of politics are of no interest to her, she prefers the daily horse race. She CERTAINLY will never discuss the reprehensible Rupert Murdoch, who destroys positive change, and careers just for fun. Turnbull is practically begging her to see Murdoch is at the centre of preventing action on the most important policy area of our time, but she will not respond nor utter his name. (See how uncomfortable she looks at 1:07:00, before winding up the interview!). You can see how to Crabb, 'saving the planet' is just a little policy game. She was once a good journalist, but now a grossly over-rated, smug wealthy insider.
