@@LH1xxthey don’t bite butts, they bite the ligaments at the back of the leg and prevent the Lion from moving. This Lion didn’t even give them a chance to bite his hind legs, he automatically folded his legs and took bites to the butt. These Hyenas never had a chance to do serious damage to the Lion, he controlled the entire situation from beginning to end. Hyenas want to bite and snap the Achilles, preventing the Lions from hunting or fighting back. Hyenas don’t get into extended fights, it’s either intimidating predators off of their kills or stalking until the prey can’t do anything. These Hyenas wanted to sever that Lions Achilles joint and slowly kill him once he was immobile, they were never given the chance.

What makes this so impressive is that hyenas are powerful predators themselves yet he calmly took on the whole clan. Amazing to watch how after a while none of the hyenas dared to get close.

A stunning piece of video not found before. The hyenas were at first trying to scare off the big male. But he was having none of that. Notice the change in their vocalizations. He was also showing the humans who is boss. What a lucky encounter to capture on tape!
That’s not true at all. You know nothing of lion behavior. Lions have developed a natural fear of humans and will on many occasions actively avoid conflict with them. This has occurred over thousands of years from dealing with native tribes and basically becoming programmed into there DNA. It’s not to say lions won’t attack people or can’t just that they are cautious. This information comes directly from people who have spent decades studying lions and from the natives tribes themselves. So I’m going to believe them over you and anybody else.

This truly highlights why the Lion IS the King of the Jungle. This cat was just chilling minding his own buisness. And they started messing with him. Tigers are huge, and insanely powerful animals, but lions fight their way through life, while tigers avoid the struggle if they don't have the clear upper hand. Any animal that can intimidate 20 or 30 freaking hyenas is a special kind of beast.

However, tigers avoid confrontations because they are solitary animals which rely on themselves, while lions live in prides and if something happens during a fight there are lioness who can do the hunting while the male recovers. With any serious injury their ass is grass. A healthy male will come and take his place, most likely killing or maiming him in the process. Lions are fighters from their first until their last day. It's just the life they have. Tigers are killers, assassins exclusively. Lions are different. No tiger will face a pack of 30 hyenas, single out and kill the large matriarch, and parade her slaughtered corpse in front of her clan. That's fucking badass, and not even bears do that.

And that's why even as a group they couldn't kill the lion. So I think you're confusing lionesses with lions. This hyena clan could possibly kill a lioness because they're not as big and strong as lions. But even the hyena clan would definitely not come out of that encounter unscathed because the lioness would probably kill a couple of hyenas before it goes down
I loved how he lifted up the body of the hyena, to show the rest of them how he is the King. You notice how far away from him they were at that point. Not one of them were going to go close to be the next one to die. They bowed down to his power and how majestic he is. What an amazing animal!

The male lion not only killed the hyena clan member, but he killed the hyena with his back faced away from the hyenas, and then held the dead hyena in its mouth like a trophy right in the hyena's faces. The male lion basically held up the dead hyena as to say, "you'll end up like this if you ever come at me again". Then drops it and calmly walks off like a boss.
People often forget the power & size difference between a Male Lion and a Lioness, a Male Lion's paw strike was measured at almost TWICE as powerful as a Lioness. That alone tells you the power difference.

Jungle is an urdu word which means uninhabited / emptiness. Asiatic lion lives in Gir Forest Park which is a savannah but has Forest too. But, lions do live in jungle on at least one place on Earth, that's Kafa Reserve in Ehiopia where lions live in rainforest..

No they're not, nowhere near a masai lion's size. The Amur Tiger is nearly only 190kg on average their max being 219kg they have stocky builds, just how an Amur leopard looks way stockier than it actually is because of its large amounts of fur although they are barely 60kg. Just amazing. All the different observations are as well. My favorite athletically is how the big lion dominates his space. He never ran away or barely chased any of them. Even when they were crowding him and biting him he dominated his space. Knowing his strength. I was also fascinated by the hyenas neurological pull between trying to save their clan member, but trying not to die themselves. I wonder the last five to six that finally backed off were immediate family of the little hyena, their neurological pull was strongest and lasted the longest. While others that knew they had to give him up started backing off first were maybe like extended family. And lastly I love how someone mentioned the vocalizations of the hyenas changing. For me it felt like them crying “nooo” and falling into hysterics, like a family surrounding a murder scene in the inner city where I grew up. Overall. I’ve said it before I’ll say it again and until the end, “Nature dominates the landscape.” 🌀

99% of the time when I watch a larger creature surrounded by a pack, it expends all of its energy trying to defend against every attack without taking out any of the attackers, but this lion made the commitment to make an example out of a couple of them. That appears to have changed the usual outcome and broken the pack's resolve.
99% of the time a "pack" of animals attacking large prey is because they plan on eating it. Hence the term prey!! Now, if you knew anything about the deepest hatred these particular beasts have for each other, then you'd know this has nothing to do with food. He’s an absolute beast. I knew exactly what he was doing and what reaction he was encouraging. Despite being attacked by the whole clan he struck another psychological blow and took it even further by walking off with dead Hyena. Supreme competitor.

He went 4 times to finish her up. Regardless of knowing that each time he did, the 20 hyenas will come and try to bite him again. Incredible dominance.
After the 1st mauling, the hyenas were a lot more hesitant to engage the lion. After the second mauling, half of them decided they didn't want anything more to do with the lion and the others wouldn't get within 10 feet of it. Even the lion just turning his head to look at them sent them skittering backwards. That's dominance!
These are different from the typical type lions we see. These types of lions usually travel in pairs or packs that consist of their male siblings. They do their own hunting and are much more aggressive than typical male lions that have prides.

A full grown healthy male lion is undoubtedly the king of the jungle. He is so majestic, courageous and brutal strength. He looks like a king and behaves like a king. Attitude matters even in the jungle.

The tiger is more of the king of predators than a lion . It's bigger , probably faster and most likely more cunning . Whenever I see a male lion and a tiger go at it , the tiger easily dominates .

This is what I'm talking about. The power and strength of a male lion. Even with twenty hyenas this male lion still stood its ground fought them, killed one of them right in their faces, and even injured some of the hyenas. Then the male lion turned towards the hyenas, holding the dead hyena, like he was posing for a picture. LOL!!! That male lion basically told those hyenas yeah I killed your clan member what you gonna do about it!!! HAHAHA!!! That was my favorite part!!!
A single female lioness can usually fend off 3 hyenas at once- and a lioness is very strong and powerful. So just knowing a male can keep 20 of them at bay.. goes to show why he's the king. He's not the largest animal like the elephant, or the fastest like the cheetah, but he is the most ferocious, most fearless, and most powerful.
The lion made a quick and precise attack on one of the hyenas to neutralize their indiscriminate attacks, and after inflicting serious injuries with the first attack, it turned the tide. Even though lions are not easily able to inflict injuries on hyenas in such a short time, that lion seemed like a particularly strong one among the lion pride. Its effective and quick decision-making and focus were very impressive.
Lions are easily able to inflict injuries it's just that they want the hyena to suffer, if it were prey it would've been different. Male lions usually just break their backs or neck and leave them to die, this was obviously a killshor.
Haven't seen a video of an encounter this good since the Ntwadumela documentary. For those who haven't seen it, it's called Eternal Enemies: Lions and Hyenas by Nat Geo. This lion gives off the same exact vibes as Ntwadumela did. There is footage of him taking on an enormous pack of hyenas and killing several + the matriarch. Anyway - amazing footage. Never seen this before.

I once saw it and never watched it again im so sad about that matriarch get killed by the lion, the pack is totally devastated because their matriarch who fought for them finally became the final casualty.
I remember that one. Ntwadumela made a religion of killing hyena matriarchs, if I remember correctly. He'd kill one and then kill the one that took her place. Ntwadumela was an amazing savage.

Lions are a warrior symbol of courage all over the world for a good reason and this video proves why. This is the best video I have ever seen. Hyenas are incredibly powerful and to see them in such a big group being wary of a male lion is unbelievable.
I think the Hyenas are overrated. they cant be incredibly powerful and bite that lion so many times with no effect. The only thing stopping that Lion was fatigue. If you need over 20 and still cant stop one male lion then you are not incredibly powerful.Oh and that Lion actually killed 2 . the second maimed hyena is not going to last.
they messed with the wrong one. You can even hear the Hyenas cry at the loss of one of their own. Sometimes its best to cut your losses. They almost lost two of them and many of them are injured after this bout with the lion. Wow what raw footage. Amazing stuff.

The male lion was greatly impressive. He displayed an air of confidence that communicated to the hyenas that he could kill every one of them by himself.
Regardless how many there were and regardless of the attack's around him, he never even attempt to run away from the hyenas!! He only time you see him in a sprint mode was to get the hyena that he had already injured really bad!! Awesome video!! If the line was concern for the well-being of this little one it would’ve inflicted punishment on one of the other larger ones that were leading the attack.

It’s so interesting watching this risk assessment take place. The hyenas have the power as a pack for victory but they know if they as an individual are caught they can be killed/fatally injured within seconds.

He tears that 1 hyena to shreds and you can tell the other hyenas want to help their buddy, but, they can't out of fear that they'll be next. Extremely sad news. This already legendary lion, still in the prime of his life, is confirmed dead, most likely due to herders, another casualty of human wildlife conflict. Habitat loss and conflicts with humans, poachers, hunters etc. are all only going to worsen for lions as the years go by. It's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel here. It's such a shame Olobor couldn't live out his years and continue to build on his legacy. RIP king .
