Well I was able to squeeze enough time in last weekend to pull the Maliboom motor apart to see why the oil pressure was low. Its not what I suspected it was and it looks like we were running on 100% luck at Rocky Mountain Race Week 1.0 last year. I hurt this thing on day 2 and drove it for the rest of the event and made a 10 second or faster pass at the rest of the tracks. Hopefully I can short block it this weekend while I wait for some new lifters.
Thanks for watching!

Good to see the crank isn't to terrible and it's repairable. 👍

Me too. I thought I was gonna have to balance the rotating assembly again. Dodged that bullet this time!

Hey man glad to see you back at! Didn't you buy a cam bering tool? Lol. Keepin it 💯 west coast shoppers!
@Burndown
@Burndown 2 года назад
Yeah I put these bearings in but I figure since I got it right and the cam looked good and the bearings still look good its less stuff I can screw up. Every time you change things that work you risk messing up. If it comes out again at some point in one piece to freshen up ill take another look at them then.

@@Burndown That's for sure Dane if it ain't broke don't fix it! Lol I was always taught and believed anytime you changed the camshaft out you had to change Cam bearings too. Until I've seen what everyone is doing with these LS motors

Off the top of my head I couldn't tell you honestly. I want to say like 25-28 something like that. I had the machine shop gap them on this motor to make life easy. Im not planning on running too much boost though it really. Hell I don't know if the rest of my drive train would like it if I did. haha

Curious if you saw any oil pressure drop in the data logs with the swap oil pan during a transbrake launch?

My car leave so soft dude. Nothing sloshes when I let go of the button. Im trying to fix that tho.

Do you have enough volume with the swap oil pan to run a high volume oil pump? I've been warned, they can evaluate the pan. A high pressure pump seems to be a more common choice than high volume, but I'm still learning.
@Burndown
@Burndown 2 года назад
This was a standard oil pump. Now that I had the crank polished it's a little loser tolerance so I'm going with the high volume pump this go round and we'll see how it dose.

@@funfun8095 Yeah I didn’t have the budget to buy them when I put the motor together. I threw up a little bit when I bought them. They will stand up to whatever I can throw at them tho. Now I’m just limited by my valve springs now. I’ll keep the red line around 7k still tho and shift at 6800 ish. No need for extra rpm for what I’m trying to do.
@funfun8095
@funfun8095 2 года назад
@@Burndown What springs? You could shim them, for some more pressure and rpm.
@Burndown
@Burndown 2 года назад
@@funfun8095 I have 660s in it now. I don’t really want to turn a crazy rpm. Just gonna shorten the fuse on her is all.
