For those new to modular tactical gear: A Tutorial on the basic use of Malice Clips (Made by Tactical Tailor), that should also be useful to learn more about the PALS system as well. milspecmonkey.com/store/15-har...
I have that very panel pouch used in this demo. excellent little pouch for small documents and/or items. it's great to see the actual people behind the product, and a great product at that!
Thanks for the lesson on weaving! I had my pouch on my pack, without the weave. However, weaving DOES make a nice and tight fit. Also, @ 5:44, that way is a MUCH easier way to get those clips off.
ALICE came out in 1973, which was at the very end of Vietnam war, and none of the ALICE gear ever made it there. What's commonly called an "ALICE clip", isn't. It was first used on M1956 gear, and called a "slide fastener". It was also part of the M1967 gear, (AKA M67). M67 gear wasn't usually known as LCE or MLCE, "Load Carrying Equipment"/"Modernized Load Carrying Equipment", but it was practically ALICE.
Saw you at triggrcon2018 shooting the kriss vector. Are you going to start making more content? Combat shoots, gear, etc. You have good insight, detail, and get VERY intimate with your weapon systems. Stay in the fight
Thank you for this video - it helps A LOT. I was figuring out the Malice clip. The embossed instructions 'raise tab to open' did not help at all. I just couldn't get a grip on the tab to raise it. Watched this video and problem solved.
Neat video. Looks to be an easier release system and more adjustable than HSGI’s clips and the ability to get a more snug fit on an ALICE belt is a really nice bonus. I’d rather WTFstraps over the two though, easier install if you have a spoon and pliers. My issue with them is that they smell bad. However my preference is still the traditional strap that is attached to the pouch or whatever. I feel more confident that that won’t shear off. Also anyone know what plate carrier that green one was?
These seem to be a much better option than getting one of those adapters for attaching ALICE pouches to PALS webbing. I might get a few, because I ended up getting an issue compass with an ALICE pouch, and I can't find a MOLLE version of the same pouch.
I have a Blackhawk Patrol Pack and am not familiar with it at all. The research that I have done indicates it has ALICE webbing, but I am confused by the loop portion of Velcro which is sewn in on the inside portion of the ALICE webbing. I have not seen any demonstrations, or accessories, on how to utilize this webbing to its fullest potential (ie, the Velcro portion). Is the Velcro to be used as simple as it seems? If so, it seems like it would not be fully secure. If not, will you direct me to a tutorial of this webbing that will better help me understand how to use it efficiently. Thank you.
this is a perfect example that they can't leave good enough alone, these things are hard to put on and take off, I like the snap much better, last longer too.
Unnecessary complex, overengineered solution for PALS at least imo. Pain in the ass to get off mainly, and in the field you can forget it. I wanted to remove an admin pouhc mounted with these things, 20 minutes of cursing and another pair of hands was needed because of the angle you needed to make to get to the release tab and pull the clip up simultanously when you reached that. Felt like a fucking donkey. Regular PALS with press stud over this any day, unless you want that ALICE gear compatibility, then they do their job fine.
I like malice for something thats gonna get set and stay there for a long time..They are a big pain in the ass to take apart though, thats the only drawback
Without a helper tool they can be a little difficult to release, but no biggie as long as one has something like a multitool around. In the balance of security, usability, and durability, Malice Clips stand out as a good solution.
Im tryna get my ESEE5 Kydex sheath on a molle platform, but i find MOLLE LOKs too expensive. do these work as a substitute? They seem a bit more flexible which frightens me, the knife is quite heavy, at 500g sheathed weight.
I’ve got a Benchmade 7 Hook with their webbing pouch made by Tactical Tailor. It’s got three close rows of horizontal webbing in a single column on the sheath, but I need to mount it to a single column of double row webbing on the waist belt of my Aqualung Rogue BCD. Is it possible to use two of those one inch webbing clips clips with the Malice Clip to get that 90 degree orientation for mounting?
Hey cool informative video, but i'm interested in getting the Ka-Bar MSM 002 in Black paracord handle and would like to know WHERE I can purchase please?
Not sure, can email me through site and I can take a pic for you, does not appear obvious like about 0.78125" center point to center point on holes. Close to .75" but a smidge over. Doesn't exactly align with mm either. Approx 4mm holes with 14mm spacing
As long as you make sure to click them into latch fully there should be practically no way them to come undone on their own. I suppose also worth inspecting the connection zone to make sure no damage there is only other thing I can think of.
I HATE THESE! I have to pry the tab up to get it in, but then the tab is useless and doesn't go back down.. Tried shaking my belt an it came right off... Ima use zipties
