@@amyraleigh1715 AWA (Verne Gagne) was a must stop for a lot of wrestlers that made it big . Also this where Hulk Hogan ( the character) was born, AWA .
Super stoked to see you up in Minnesota! I have been there many a time 😊 Once, as a kid on summer break, I visited the mall of America and in that rotunda they were having a clown convention. It was frightening! They were wandering all over the mall. Lol
We were there the same day as you! We didn’t get to see it all the day before and went back to see the parts we missed. We continued our road trip north west and are checking out the Edmonton Mall now.
Hi Adam ! Glad to see ya! Wow! Love Mall of America already! In Bloomington, MN. 1992. 33 YRS OLD. Hope i can Make it to the mall!!! Fantastic mall for the family!
Never been to the Mall of America, but when I was 9 I was on the world's largest indoor ferris wheel up in Toronto, Canada. It was in the base of the Skylon Tower and it was frightenly fun.
Carlo's was the bakery where Cake Boss was filmed... Carlo was the owner (family business started by his father) EDIT: Not surprised the coffee wasn't good... so many have said his bakery was more hype than taste.
The business wasn't started by his father, it was started by Carlo Guastaferro in 1910. It was purchased by Bartolo "Buddy" Valastro Sr., in 1964, and is now owned and operated by Bartolo "Buddy" Valastro Jr., (a.k.a. Cake Boss). And yeah, I have had cake from the MOA location, and it was very "meh", and over prices.
I had the pleasure of visiting the Mall of America the first week it all opened. I went back to the Mall of America a number of times to go to Camp Snoopy. I really enjoyed the theming and rides with the famous Charlie Brown piano music playing throughout the park. Nickelodeon has squeezed more attractions into the tight space, but I liked it better as Camp Snoopy. I had heard the Log Flume had closed for good, but I'm delighted to see it's still operating. Thanks for visiting this amazing icon Adam. You Rock.
I always wanted to go to the mall of America since I was a kid growing up in the late 90s/early 2000s. I remember seeing it on tv specials and thinking it looked so cool. Your video makes me think it might be time to take a road trip over there. It’s about 20 hours from us, the same distance as Orlando.
I remember this place being built back in 1990 and hearing about it being opened and always wanted to visit there. It was built to be so large to provide a refuge from the brutal Minnesota winters. People in Minnesota are said to be very friendly, which makes coping with the winters better. Minnesota Nice and Minnesota Ice.
It's been more than 8 years for us, having been there. I'd like to go back one day. It would have been cool if you could have explored and shown more stores. I Love Orange Julius. It's making me want one now.
Happy Friday night from Australia.. what a good way to end my day (and working week) by watching this vlog before bed 😊 thanks Adam and safe travels, I'm looking forward to seeing more of your vlogs..
For the coffee part I believe there’s a caribou coffee outlet in the ride section but I could be wrong , I have not been there for 7 years 😂 but we are going to the MOA next month I can’t wait
Pastamania is when Hulk was in WCW not WWF/WWE in 1995 . Hulk & Eric Bischoff (pres of WCW ) made a deal with MOA for him to have restaurant in dealing with having the First Monday Nitro event in September of 1995 . Monday Nitro was the head to head tv show to go against Vince McMahon's Monday Night Raw called the Monday Night Wars (WCW vs WWF/WWE) . Which lead to the attitude era (stone cold, the rock, DX, etc) and later on Vince McMahon bought WCW for $5M ( $100M+ dollar company for $5M) what a deal!
My son and I really enjoyed that Era of wrestling. My son was 5 at the time it was awesome time in our lives. We talk about all the time of course he doesn't remember all of it. Thanks for the information
Pastamania turned into a McDonald's for years. It was the only McDonald's that served Pepsi because they were a sponsor of MOA. Was great to get a mountain dew with my quarterpounder
Are you unaware of the aquarium that was in the basement? Seems like a thing you'd bring up. There used to be a real nice, big aquarium there. It was cool! It had those glass tubes that went through the aquarium...and sharks and gige turtles! Even an awesome outside area, like a proper aquarium would, with a interactive shore and tide part. They didn't half step it at all!
My oldest granddaughter wanted to go to MOA for her high school graduation gift. We had a great time shopping. I loved the Peeps store! Took her to dinner at Dicks Last Resort which was a hoot. They sat her in an adult high chair for dinner. It was hilarious! We had a fabulous weekend! BTW that was 12 years ago..
I saw a show with a Hulk Hogan interview, and he said that he had been approached by a company wanting to name their new grill after him. He said he declined because he was probably going to sign with a different company so they could use his name for their meatball making machine. The meatball machine flopped, and the grill company ended up signing their second choice, George Foreman, who made a fortune with it. 😂
I used to go to the dells with my family as a kid, now I want to take my kids! I'm a big kid at heart, so I'm sure I'll enjoy it just as much as an adult. Getting older comes with true appreciation for the small things in life.
My 2 cents: Thise pins are souvenirs of memories and for us too, as you have shred the “getting” of them with us. You were on the mark when you said (drum roll please) “maybe I’ll just get another cork (or as some also call them:”bulletin”) board” 🎯
Right when i started watchi g the video. I was gonna comment that there was a hulk hogan food place in there.. then bam. Lol. Thanks for the blast from the past. My siblings and i used to live in Minnesota for part of the year to be with our dad. And our step mom would take us here quite often.
I'm not an expert in many things my friend, but, there is very little I've not learned about Knott's Berry Farm, my absolute favorite non Disney park. The Log Ride at Knott's was built by the now defunct company "Arrow Development" the chute ride you're enjoying today. formerly known as Paul Bunyan's Log Chute, was in fact built by Hopkins Rides. Fun fact for a man obsessed with Hollywood tie ins, John Wayne and his young son Ethan were first to ride Knott's famous log ride on July 11, 1969. The Duke spent a lot of time in Bud Hurlbut's machine shop at Knott's, he designed the original version and also designed and built Calico Mine Train.
Hey Adam great video at Mall of America in Minneapolis, MN..Plus Hulk Hogan's former restaurant Pastamania, other great stores, riding attractions and more..Enjoy
Adam, you have a trained palette. The OJ website states: "Please note that there are two different preparation methods for Julius Originals. The Julius Originals preparation method for DQ locations uses"the Misty® slush, and the Julius Originals preparation method for Orange Julius locations (Orange Julius without a DQ component) uses simple syrup."
I worked at a MOA in my retail management days. You should see the underbelly of the mall. People flying by in golf carts and you think they are going to crash into a wall but then the wall flys up in the sky to let the cart through. Huge dumpsters on liquor bottles separated by color. It's like a little city
He was part of WCW at the time. The first episode of WCW Nitro on TNT came from the Mall of America. The announcer interviewing him at the restaurant is former WCW president and on air talent Eric Bishoff.
Went to MOA for the first time last winter, def worth the 5 or 6 hour drive for us, great winter theme park fix when everything else in the midwest is closed
Hope you had fun at MOA. In nickelodeon universe on the SW side by the mystery mine ride. There is a ride called i believe Flying over America. It is a replica of Soaring at Epcot. I go every year at Christmas for the Christmas version, that way i get my Soaring fix without going to Disney.
Really wanted to see this one, I got a good feel for what it would be like to be there from this vid. Has ATW ever been to the Adventuredome inside Circus Circus Las Vegas?
Carlos Bake Shop is originally from Hoboken NJ I have been to and Santa Monica I heard that location was going to close but yes the Tiger Tail is what’s popular.
Suggestion: if you are revisiting a location, insert a short clip of that previous visit in the current video. It would be fun to see the differences! Cool videos as always, thanks
Hey Adam 🤗 I did think that ride looked like you’d get quite wet on there 🫣 that mall is mahoosive, never seen anything like it but lots to do with all those rides. I do love when you do your Annie impressions 😂 I hope you’re having a fab day whatever you’re up to today ♥️ xxx
Weird fact about the HVAC system at the mall is even when it's-30°F outside the air conditioning still runs due to the body heat accumulated from the attendees
@@chuckfan1 For historical accuracy it matters and I was just trying to correct that there Terry. And to me, it does matter because I hate WWF/WWE about as much as you hate my post. Good day Terry.
About 20 years ago we had a family reunion in Minnesota and we stayed right across the street at the Marriott. What a fun time! We went to the mall when Camp Snoopy was still there!
I don’t know which I love more, Hulk Hogan in a Pastamania shirt or Adam the Woo in a Stuckey’s t-shirt? Thinking Adam needs a log roll mania shirt for his next video…😉
Sad that this mall is not even in the top ten of the biggest malls in the world. America held that record since the beginning of malls, until the last 20 years
It’d be neat if you showed a little of what you do in your evenings on your road trips. Like maybe your dinners and even your hotel rooms if you’re so inclined. I do understand that you can only show so much in 25-40 minute videos…
my friends and I once had a connecting flight in Minneapolis with some time to kill so we caught a train from the airport to the mall of America! we're from Australia.
I live in MN and have been there many times as a kid. Don’t go there much anymore since the last time I went when the Switch released? A fight broke out underneath the floor I was walking. lol
Go to the American Dream mall or Mall of America 2. It's huge as well with water park and what not. Went once and will not again. To many people. Great video
Log ride needs to be renovated. Come on Stanley Mugs! That atrium area hosted a Wrestling show there, i think it was Monday Night Nitro or something. The theme park has always been great, Camp Snoopy was a better theme for MN. It didn't last that Barbie Cafe. Same with the Hard Rock before that. MOA is the location of the original rainforest cafe.
Dorney Park in Allentown PA has Camp Snoopy and is known to home of Snoopy and the New Iron Menace Roller Coaster only one in American with the Steeps hill drop as of 2024. The massive Mall in NJ Amercian Dream has the most insane Coaster you'll ever ride which is themed the TMNT if you like Coasters check it out 😂😂🤢🤮. Only certain DQ stores has Orange Juluis shops in them, dam right Orange Julius being a staple of American malls I still remember the one in local mall here as it's long gone now.
Awesome Adam, MOA has been on my radar for a while. Just need to get up in that region. I need those five states to add to my list, the Dakotas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa.
@@toddryan0108 if you come do not park at fair. Use a free park and ride. So worth it. And there are dozens of them all around the metro. I'm 45 and have only parked once at the fair if that tells you anything about the fun of it
Morning Adam 😎📸 it's the Mall of America awesome 👍 thanks for sharing this, it has seen better days. Thanks for taking us along. Stay safe and have a great day.
Adam, theres a huge classic car show this weekend at the MN state fairgrounds. Its called Back to the Fifties, there will be around 15,000 classic car alerts.
That's because the developer of Rainforest is from here. He just sold his 50s themed drive in diner that he hasn't had open since COVID. Galaxy drive in it's in the burbs too
You should go up to Canada and visit West Edmonton Mall sometime, it’s even bigger! 😉 Though I haven’t been there for a long time so don’t know if it’s still thriving.
