Personally, I appreciate the the increasingly eerie announcements which add to that special "backrooms" and "liminal space" feeling that internet culture associates with malls of yesteryear. You could develop this into a whole story based off the announcements.

I was at my local mall recently. As I went up the teal and gray colored stairs onto the tile covered second floor-- I felt unusually clear headed and closed my eyes as I walked and listened to the music playing, reverberating near the food court over the sparse crowds of slowly bustling shoppers

I like the announcements, they add a realistic touch and tell a surreal story about chicken nuggets. I had a friend in college who was obsessed with chicken nuggets and this mix always makes me think of him.

I personally listen to alot of vaporwave/mallsoft/sythwave mixes while I work on artwork/Graphic Design things and usually after a bit I just stop paying attention to what I am listening to and start getting distracted from my work. Oddly enough the announcements gave me a reason to focus on what I was listening to/doing, although I will say the interruptions are a bit too frequent at points.

Heard some of these tunes in other mixes. Great stuff. I don't believe for a second that the voice over guy cutting in to the music is actual audio from back when. I've never heard that at a real mall I've ever been in. Kinda annoying, but I'll try to enjoy the music.

great music selection. announcer was a nice addition conceptually, but their interjections are very frequent. It makes it hard to focus on working, studying, or even just maintain a steady flow of thoughts when someone is literally interrupting every couple of minutes. Maybe this playlist is for more mindless activities like walking/riding the train/etc but it's very difficult to think to this. Vaporwave and mallsoft is background/ambient-focused music that tries not to draw attention to itself, but the [DING DONG] -> [ANNOUNCEMENT] breaks that sense of ambience/immersion. No discredit to you, music and concept is nice -- it just seems a little confused in intent. mallsoft not musically varied/stimulating enough to be the forefront of attention, but the interjections stop it from being ambient music as well. only purpose i can use it for personally is perhaps a low effort workout -- which i plan to do.
