Lyda Borelli stars in this 1917 Italian melodrama. This version has Italian intertitles with English subtitles available if you click on the subtitle icon. All credit to whoever did the subs - they were sent to me years ago by a third party.

I worked on this very restoration, in 1991 or 1992. Compared with modern transfers, it has kept a surprising amount of patina; before digital correction, this was considered acceptable.

I would love to say they were my work, but they weren't. They were sent to me in a file some years ago. So all credit to whoever wrote them.

Very interesting movie, although I must admit I had a problem following what was going on at times. Intend to watch it a second and possibly third time to get my head around it, A movie I hadn't heard about previously. Am glad to have the opportunity of seeing it. Thanks for posting.
