Mamamoo - Aze Gag - UK K-Pop Fans Reaction 

I have never seen someone starting Mamamoo with Aze Gag lol. This song is basically unknown to reactors. But thank you for going into the vault 😂

Fun fact: Aze Gag/아재개그 (pronounced approximately like "Ajae Gageu" in Korean) is a combination of the words 아저씨 (Ajeosshi), a polite honorific term meaning 'Uncle' or 'Older/Middle Aged Man' and the English word Gag, as in joke, so a similar meaning to Dad Jokes! When Mamamoo were writing the song, they asked their fans to submit their favourite dad jokes to them to put into the song.

Mamamoo is a low-key underrated group. They've got the best vocals in Kpop, they built up their company from nothing, their whole brand was female empowerment, and they broke a lot of barriers and conventions for female idol groups back in the day. They're hilarious as hell, and a large majority of their fandom are women. I'd say that Mamamoo was the only group that rivaled Blackpink even though Blackpink came from an enormous company and Mamamoo again came from nothing. There's a lot of respect for Mamamoo because they broke into the industry based on raw talent and charisma alone.

lmao of all the songs to start mamamoo with. Like bdawn said they have more than a few fun songs. But if you want whiplash their more vocally heavy songs, i miss you (especially live) or paint me are excellent choices. If you want an idea of their repertoire fans always recommend their killing voice medley, especially as it showcases some of their goofiness too. If you want an idea of both vocal ability and stage presence without song spoilers the immortal songs medley is the way to go. Both are longer videos but genuinely awesome. If you want pure goofiness there's 1cm as bdawn mentioned. Sleep in a the car which is a diss track born from two of the members being tired behind the scenes and complaining about having to sleep in the car with their makeup on. Waggy, a song about puppy love, that included animal onesies and inbuilt animal impressions. Also the Um Ah Oh Yeah m/v has a wild concept. As well as Recipe (literally a song about a recipe) they once made food live while performing it lmao. Speaking of live performances when they were performing aze gag they used to each prepare a new dad joke to try and break the others. Whichever way you go you cant really go wrong though. I hope you spend more time with them.

They are Korean puns. This Korean word sounding like that Korean word is not going to survive translation. It's fun to find a bilingual reactor doing a reaction to this song. They do a lot of groaning, along with a few chuckles and maybe an actual laugh or two and will usually explain some of the jokes. DKDKTV is one of those. They have a number of "explained by a Korean" videos, where they tell us what we missed, being unfamiliar with their culture.

Mamamoos... Sketchbook version of "Waggy", is another funny song as well as 1cm. They have an amazingly good Discography, stunning vocal ranges. You just can't go wrong with Mamamoo!

A bit of context on the dad jokes. Wedding Peach is the title of old school anime series (Korea is neighbouring to Japan so there's also some influence of anime, especially old school ones). Tiffany is a member of Kpop group SNSD which is very known (from generation before them). Mamamoo fandom is MooMoo, and Moo means radish in Korean. So yeah, word play on many inside jokes or cultural context jokes.

Hi. 😊 thank you for reacting to Mamamoo! I'm glad you enjoyed! Mamamoo debuted in 2014. They are known for a couple of things: Vocal Queens, each one is phenomenal. Being "beagle-idols". Which is basically when they are together and comfortable they are loud and crazy in the best way. They have fun. This song is a "Dad Jokes" song, but as you found out it gets just slightly lost in translation. For this M/V, this was just them being themselves. The behind the scenes is also extremely funny with them coming up with what to do and trying things out, constant laughing. They have a few "gag songs" that are them just making jokes or having fun. The most performed one out of them would be "1cm" or "Taller Than You" which is them making fun of each others heights when the reality is they are only a cm or so difference between them. For them members::: Solar (pink hair in this M/V) Leader, oldest member 1991, known for Power Vocals Moonbyul (purple hair this M/V) Rapper, 1992, Most credited Female Idol, also vocalist Wheein (light brown hair in this M/V) 1995, Honey vocals, has a full solo album coming out Oct. 12th! Hwasa (black hair this M/V) Youngest member, 1995, Jazz/Soulful Vocals. Best friends with Wheein since middle school. They each have their own solid solo careers with multiple albums. They also each have their own RU-vid channels (I will come back to tag them later when on my laptop. Or another MooMoo can if they make it here before I do.) The fans are called "MooMoo's". In Korean "moo" means radish. So we playfully refer to ourselves as the radish farm. The vegetable in the video was indeed a radish, more specifically a Daikon Radish which is more commonly used in Korea. Even the Fandom lightstick is designed to look like this! They even designed at sold mini versions of the light stick that sat in a little pot, they haven't had those available for a long time. BUT they do sale a stuffed toy version of it that is really cute, the plot of land and the radish lightstick that you can sit in it. This was a lot, sorry about that. Haha. You know whats funny beside dad jokes, of all the songs Mamamoo have, you chose Aze Gag as your first song to react with. This whole reaction became enjoyable because of that. 1 thing I love about MAMAMOO and Hwasa in this point, is how much they love word plays and puns. 😁 One of the puns/word play that we didn't need translation in this song is at 9:15, where the lyrics said "Buddha hansome". When pronounced, it sounded like Put your hands up, and so the girls did that in the choreo here. 🤣 Also, MAMAMOO is from a small company, they didn't have a lot of budget, so they they had been creating all their choreos since debut in 2014 all the way till end 2018. They only started having professional choreographers make choreos for them starting in 2019. So it's really all their ideas and decisions seen in this song choreo. 😁😁

MOO in Korean means raddish So, Mamamoo = MamáRadish. Which is why the fandom is MooMoos and the lightstick is a Korean Radish (Mu) Mamamoo is the female version of Exo when it comes to Vocals. Stage presence, and discography. For me, 2 best groups.
