This song basically served as the introduction to the "4 Seasons, 4 Colors" project. (Starry Night, Egotistic, Wind Flower, Gogobebe) Each member in this MV is designated with their own color, which they would continue to represent in their upcoming 4S4C albums. (Yellow Flower, Red Moon, Blue Sun, White Wind) (I also consider this track to be the start of Mamamoo's "modern era".)
It also foreshadows the subsequent Album, "Reality in BLACK". Whose Concept is that regardless of the Mooltiverse, they're destined to find each other. Which technically dates back to their 'Piano Man' MV & would/could technically include their MV for 'Um Oh Ah Yeh' (technically speaking).
You missed another 3 MVs: "Ahh Oop", "New York" and "Gleam". I advise to watch, you willn't regret it. And solo MVs: Hwasa "Be Calm", Hwasa&Loco "Don't give it", Moonbyul - "Selfish", "Snow", "Absence". And they have so many collaborations with other artists
Please react to "Why MAMAMOO should stop hosting their own show" and "MAMAMOO questionable behaviour when drunk" by issamo_o, you won't regret it these videos are so funny and so well edited :D
I remember the whole fandom was so emotional when paint me dropped because it was the start of vocal Byul. Previously we’d only heard her sing in covers, etc unofficial stuff it was a beautiful day for moos. Paint me was a prerelease that introduced the yearlong 4seasons 4colors project that was to come. & since it’s not a title track it’s not really a major mv but at the same time it’s important. The order goes paint me > starry night (yellow flower album) > egotistic (red moon album) > wind flower (blue;s) > Gogobebe (white wind)
Btw im happy u back!! I know its annoying and this is a Mamamoo reaction, but can i request Dahyun, Rainism live? I would really love to see ur reaction to it TooGrown!
It was a prerelease that introduced the 4seasons project but not really a major mv it wasn’t a comeback at the same time it was important since it laid the foundation for the yearlong project that was to come
Paint me is that song that makes me feel bad for how underrated Mamamoo is generally in kpop. This song is wonderful. Now is time to check Gleam is another bop! Also please check Absence by Moonstar! She nailed that song! Good to see you again!
It's been awesome discovering these new groups with you! Prior to watching your channel, I only listened to twice, but now I like several groups. Mamamoo is a top one! Glad to have you back man!
seriously, mamamoo once a week really not enough, youve missed to much of mamamoo n WE NEED TO CATCH UP TOGETHER. PLEASE. n its time for you to start looking up their stages performance, immortal songs medley, the queendom stages, their MAMA stages i promise you wont regrets ps. so good to see you again!
Oh God I havent listened to this song in so long and the reason is cus i remember crying the first time I've heard it and after such a long break this felt like hearing it for the first time once again so guess who's crying noww?? :')
I don’t really know how they determine what’s a minor/major MV. This one might be considered a minor, because it’s not the lead single from a release (it’s on the same EP as Starry Night). But it might also be considered a major MV, because it was an announcement of the 4 colours thing they were doing for their next 4 releases.
Thanks for FINALLY reacting to this song ㅠㅠ 💕 This MV is a 'minor' but also a 'major' mv at the same time... 👀🙊🙈 The 'starting point' for the 4season 4color project 😂😂 so it falls before Starry Night :))
Paint Me was a pre-release single from the Yellow Flower album to start the 4 Season 4 Color project. They did no promotions for Paint Me and have only performed it live in cut versions and with very different arrangements. Paint Me is an unusual song musically - it's not a standard ballad in that it doesn't build to a climax and instead is like a series of waves washing over you repeatedly with minimal instrumentation. The lyrics are also very odd for what seems to be a love song and I agree with the theory that the relationship they're singing about is their relationship with music and how music colors and brings meaning to their lives. I call it an art song rather than a pop song because it's all about the picture they paint via the colors and timbres of their voices and doesn't rely on the hooks and standard format of pop music. Imo it's their vocal masterpiece on record and was the 2018 SOTY. The MV is deceptively simple. It looks like a sequence of shots of the members being gorgeous, sophisticated women but they subtlely introduce the themes, concepts and symbolism of the 4S4C project. I think the musical structure of the song represents the endlessly repeating, cyclical seasons and the stages of life & relationships they explore in the seasons & colors of the 4S4C albums and imho the end of the MV implies that life itself is cyclical and we return via reincarnation to start a new cycle.
I hope you get to check out Moonbyul's solo song "Selfish" featuring Seulgi from Red Velvet. I think it'd go well on your playlist. It's a really good track to cruise to down the highway.
I'm so glad to see that you are back! I can't wait for more videos from you and I can't wait for you to get into more Mamamoo they are amazing as you can see, I hope you are doing well and staying healthy! And also Congratulations on hitting over 50,200 Subscribers you have come a long way TooGrown!
mamamoo are one of the best vocalists kpop has ever had, even their main rapper can outsell main vocals of other groups, please react to their immortal songs, “wonderful confession” and “delilah” are my favorite, but their immortal song medley has everything, it’s amazing. their MAMA performances are something you’d love as well, there’s the 2018 and 2019 one, both are incredible
you would also LOVE LOVE LOVE when solar went on this reality show, she covered a few songs but temptation and Chan Chan Chan are the most famous ones, she put her own twist and killed it (I’d be so fucking grateful if you reacted to them, her performances are so underrated)
Don't feel too bad. Lots of people overlook this song. It's an exceptionally beautiful arrangement, but I think it was a prerelease song that was promoted lightly. There's at least one live performance out there of this song, and that's worth watching.
Yay another poster moment! It’s definitely been a while but it’s understandable when every moment in mv could be a poster moment. Especially this one. Has to be one of my favorite Mamamoo songs.
If you want vocals, check out their Immortal Songs II performances, all live, will blow you away like nothing you’ve heard yet. Their studio work is great, but their live performances are legendary. Backwoods is jaw dropping.
I live for your MMM reactions because you appreciate everything that should be appreciated (esp. Wheein and Moon!). Please keep the MMM content coming. Felt good to be your 300th like too, haha
Not sure if anyone mentioned this already or if I missed it in the video but this mv and song is the introduction to their 4 seasons project in order. This came out in Winter time, so that's why we dont start with Wheein's White Wind song Gogobebe. They mentioned the colors and what the song was going to be about in their lyrics. They're also wearing the colors too. Albums are: Yellow Flower (Hwasa) spring - Starry Night Red Moon (Moonbyul) summer - Egotistic Blue Sun (Solar) Fall - Wind Flower White Wind (Wheein) Winter - Gogobebe
Finalllly! I did say I was ready to give up because we tried to tell you for weeks, but I'm so glad you got to experience it. It's one of my favorite songs, period.
There's also some of their pre-debut MVs: Don't be Happy and Peppermint Chocolate. They're both collaborations though, and were kinda like the "preview" for Mamamoo before they officially debuted with Mr. Ambiguous. That said, if you ever get around to watching their cover and/or special videos... Moonbyul's vocals will blow you away with her most recent cover (Trying to Say Goodbye): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZjhctbeifW0.html. And Wheein's dance covers will probably make your jaw drop to the floor lol. They're all on the main Mamamoo channel.
I'm not sure what to classify this MV as in terms of major or minor but this MV started off the "4 seasons 4 colours project" they did which led into Starry Night (yellow, represented by Hwasa) , Egotistic (red, rep by Moonbyul) , Wind Flower (blue, rep by Solar) and lastly Gogobebe (white, rep by Wheein). This was huge for moomoos because Moonbyul sang in the track instead of rapping
Mamamoo's vocals are in a different level than other groups. They're just so amazing, especially on the stage and they rarely lip sync, even during the HIP era. This song demonstrates their incredible singing ability, even Moonbyul gets to sing and if you listen to her album, you'll know that she's just as good as other members.
Kick-off for their 4 Seasons, 4 Colors Project Albums as well as technically foreshadowing the 5 Color'd Albums: Yellow Flower - Red Moon - Blue;S - White Wind || Reality in BLACK. Reality in BLACK's concept about them being destined to meet regardless of which Mooltiverse you were to look at, technically dates back all the way to almost their beginning with their Piano Man MV, where they weren't "Mamamoo" but were them as the Bartender (Hwa Sa), Waitress (Whee In), Singer (Solar), & Dancer (Byul) but they all still met up at that Bar. Technically "Um Oh Ah Yeh" would also fall into the same concept that Reality in BLACK is about.
Finally, I love this song so much too. If it possible, please please please make a reaction video to their Albums. You'll like it. Their songs are masterpieces.
I know Star Wind Flower Sun is a minor MV but I really feel you should react to it. It's a song Solar wrote for the fans ( she also released a solo version of it on her Solar's Emotion series ) The MV was filmed the same time as Starry Night in New Zealand.
I remember when they released this and I didn't know that moonbyul is actually a singer so I wondered how can she fit her rap style into this type of song and they she started singing and I had to stop the video and just breathe for a moment, because it took me aback :D What I gave up on is that GOT7 got skipped again and I'm not even surprised anymore with their unfortunate fate in life overall :D
Everglow was a part of the vote for next group but EXO won. They'll probably be back in the running after he finishes another group and opens up time to react to a new one.
If the question is if it's a title track, it is not. Maybe that's why you missed it. But it was a pre-release single to introduce the 4 Seasons Project (basically the albums to Starry Night, Egotistic, Wind Flower, and Gogobebe as title tracks). You also missed: Promotion MVs- Woohoo, Gleam B-side MVs- Aze Gag, My Hometown Single MVs - New York, Girl Crush, Ah Oop Solos: Moonbyul - Selfish (ft. Seulgi), Absence Wheein - Goodbye, 25 Hwasa - Don't (with Loco) I feel like I'm missing something.
Mamamoo "Gleam" And Hwasa ft Loco next please❤️ Just a little note, Loco always said like her perfect girl would be Hwasa. He have a crush on Hwasa before the collaboration for the song. Some of the fandom shipped them. Loco is in the army Right now.
Please react to Mamamoo's younger brother groups Oneus (idol group) and Onewe (band), all RBW groups have amazing vocals btw :) Oneus released an epic MV recently called Come back home from their Road to Kingdom performance (similar to the show Queendom that Mamamoo was on) and have a comeback on the 19th! Onewe did a rock cover of Mamamoo's hip that you should really check out, and an absolute must for any Mamamoo fan is their song *Q (feat. Hwasa)* Fun fact, one member of each group are also twins!
I think you're also missing their 'Gleam' MV, and Solar's collab with other girl group members 'Honey Bee' Also, you should react to the member and group teasers for the new girl group Mamamoo's label is gonna debut, Purple Kiss
Yo can you PLEASE watch mamamoo live? You’re not getting the full idea about this group by just watching MVs. You have to see what they’re capable of vocally. I recommend something from their immortal songs catalog (it’s a Korean show they’ve appeared on like 11 times where singers cover epic Korean standards)- try “Delilah” “the way to sampo” or the “immortal songs medley.” Also their appearance on the show Queendom- watch “I miss you” - I remember in the guide you saw a clip and asked what song that was. Thanks bro.
Paint me is like introduction of mamamoo 4 colors project, they didn't do the promotion for this song... actually you have missed another mamamoo mv.. 1. Gleam : glasses commercial 2. Ahh oop 3. New york 4. Woo hoo : LG commercial 5. Star wind flower sun 6. There is one more, but i would not recomend it (moomoos will get it) haha
