Don’t forget - there is an mv for goodnight. Also the Japanese version of the travel album had an extra track not on this version (plus wanna be myself which has its own mv)
Yeah, Byul wrote the lyrics to Goodnight. She's always the one leaving goodnight messages to Moos on fancafe, telling us she'll always be there to protect us in our sleep. When you get a chance, there's a special clip for Goodnight in MMM's official channel you should react to. It's just happiness and calmness in a 4-minute long clip. I watch it whenever I'm feeling anxious or when my insomnia is at its worst. Thanks for giving us so much content to look forward to, every Monday (and otherwise).
Byul's rap on Diamond is jaw dropping (actually all her parts are) Solar's soft moans on Diamond is just so ahhhhhh Hwasa sounds so sultry on Travel and AYA Wheein's acapella on Good night gives me goosebumps I actually love all the songs in this album. Its very interesting, intense and also healing. But definitely love Diamond coz of Solar soft moans LMAOOOOO
Moonbyul chooses to go for the artistic, vibe raps most of the time but she debuted with some of the fastest syllables per second in the genre during Mr. Ambiguous. From the literal beginning we saw she CAN do it... if she wants to. Seems like she felt the speed in Diamond is a good juxtaposition with the slow, plodding music and lyrics to draw special attention to the message in those couple of lines and hey, looks like it worked.
Idk if it's just me but whenever the wheein acapella part on Goodnight comes on, I cry. I'm not even sad! Her voice just cuts through my heart every time. I love her T^T
Diamond is one of their.. umm.. "spicy" songs 😏 so sensual is the right word to describe it. Can't wait till you get to see/hear their live performance of Words Don't Come Easy (another spicy song) 🤭 Also! Do you see what I mean about Wheein's relationship with ballads when listening to Good Night??? Her voice fits it so well 😳
@@SinghReacts I know 😟. She has a lot of OSTs that are ballads so we are very much well fed with Wheein ballads but yet we still crave more because it's just too good 😖. I'll be manifesting Redd to feature at least one ballad 🧘🧘🧘
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DNgNRnfB0CU.html here's the link to the deadliest MMM live performance EVER! Also, my favorite B-Side, Words Don't Come Easy. You SERIOUSLY need to bring water when reacting to this one. You've been warned.
9:32 same man, I don’t get it either why some people were just kinda bashing Aya too much and following the trend to hate that song instead of appreciating the music production itself. Aya is such a freakin bop and an absolute total banger club song. I love this song so much. There is absolutely no weak links at all on these album.
Interesting that you said that Good Night is a good night song to moos, because they released a special mv for it and that was their exact intention and it's sooo cute and heartwarming. You should check that out (it's on their official channel) even if just on your own and not for a reaction :))
In “diamond” it’s not a key change. It’s just a classic blues progression disguised under modern production. It goes diminished minor, minor7 and then resolves.. you just don’t hear it often in pop so it pops. You’d recognize it from like a Jimi Hendrix song if it had been on guitar. I love mamamoo for stuff like that as a musician myself
Yea it didn’t sound like a key change but we definitely changed directions lol you’re right! In learning some of their songs I can say this isn’t the first time they’ve done that!
@@SinghReacts I meant minor flat 7 oops.. yea mamamoo are great dude. I see you’re also getting into red velvet- they also have an amazing discography. I would suggest getting into Loona soon too. I think they have THE most interesting music in kpop right now- you will want to know every chord change they use (cuz they use some really innovative and wacky ones). I think the holy trinity of girl groups is mamamoo, red velvet and Loona if we’re talking great innovative production.
Travel throws me back to the sound of 80's Brit pop groups like Altered Images. I think of Travel and Dingga as Mamamoo's attempt to cheer us up while we're socially isolated. I'm pretty sure that's a synth flute on Aya rather than a real instrument. A group of k-moomoos were invited to preview the album and recommended Dingga as the title track but their advice was ignored. Aya obviously isn't a typical kpop song. It didn't do very well on the charts and failed to garner any wins on the music shows. You just don't hear many k-hits with an anti-drop chorus and an outro that switches gears twice into a completely different genre than the rest of the song. It's almost Wind Flower take 2: it seems like MMM & RBW chose the title track for artistic rather than commercial reasons. The vocals aren't super flashy or showstopping but they used a variety of different vocal techniques and colors to fit the song (lots of vocal fry, etc) and I think the vocal arrangement is very unusual and very successful at telling the song story. Aya is a trip and I love it but it's not the kind of bop kpop fans tend to gravitate towards. For me Aya, Chuck and Diamond are the most musically interesting songs on the album. Good Night is a beautiful way to close the album but for some reason it doesn't kill me like some of MMM's other ballads. On the physical cd Wanna Be Myself is added as the last song but it's basically a bonus track like the inclusion of Twit at the end of Hwasa's Maria album.
CHUCK REALLY IS THAT SONG! such a shame it wasn't performed live, just by thinking how much of performance piece it is, they couldve made a grand entrance with that bomb intro and the vocal showdown in that song is insane, not a lot of moos would handle that tbh hahahaha
The only expectation u should have from Mamamoo. It the unexpected, Aya is them. Just like AZE GAG, starry night, 1cm, wind flower, Pokémon ost, I miss you. Ur expectations is what u didn’t know what u want. As I was writing this moonbyul flow in diamond always makes me pause. Lol 😂 They have the 4 seasons full concert on RU-vid if u ever want to check it out for yourself. They preform this as they walk around the audience.
this album has no skips 🤭💖 thank you as always for the reaction! “Good night” actually has a music video that’s super cute so you might want to check it out ;)
Diamond is one of my favourites songs, but I really love the bob that gives me Travel and Dingga. To be honest I LOVE the entire album :) Ah... and yes, Diamond is a navy song, they always have at least one in each album ;)
Ah yes! Travel is that one (uh for lack of better word) travel song that's perfect for the car. You can just FEEL the wind blowing in your hair lol They have a video for Goodnight. You should check it out. Its lowkey. Just for moos :)
prior to this album's release a number of korean moos (i want to say about 30 but could be misremembering) were invited to listen to the three options for the title track, "aya", "dingga" and "chuck". the majority picked "dingga", saying it was more what the general public was looking for and would do well on the charts (it did) but rbw and mamamoo ignored this and chose "aya" anyway, which, like "wind flower", didn't do so well, chartswise. just them reminding people they care more about their art than wins, though they do enjoy the wins when they happen. ...but man, if they'd opted for "chuck", i wonder what would have happened... "diamond" is also really interesting and yeah that's solar at the start of it. and yes, very, very sensual. they've got quite a few of those but people are constantly surprised at every new one released and then "goodnight"... there's actually a video they uploaded for it, not an official mv but it may as well be. it's an adorable thing with the four in individual places (3 at home, hwasa in a car) singing to each other (and the fans)... and yes, that part where the music stops and it's just wheein singing... i kind of wish they'd kept that for the last bit of the song, just individual member vocals without the music and yeah, the physical album included "wanna be myself" on it as a bonus also, they've had some acapella stuff, enough for a video showcasing them, but the only official video is for "um ah oh yeah" that they did during hwasa's birthday that year (and had a behind the scenes prank in it). they later performed it live with the video itself as the backing track, played behind them
That’s probably why they chose Dingga for the prerelease mv lol but yea I would’ve picked that one for the title track too. I do love Aya tho so I can see why they wanted that one
Told ya Goodnight will really make you feel good just by listening to it but would still recommend you watch their special mv. Also if you want to hear Moon belt, watch Ten Nights. 😉
