My ranking: 1. Wheein: Great techniques 2. Solar: Power Vocals 3. Hwasa: Sassy voice (very unique). 4. Moonbyul: The bass is hers. (Still solar biased). They all have something different to offer to the group. That's why they are MAMAMOO. No one is out of the team. They fit so well together.❤❤
I was really confused when seeing this because for me vocal ranking can be determined in different ways. Solar has the highest vocal register which allows her to hit the highest notes but when I listen carefully to their live performances Wheein always has the most stable vocals which helps the flow of the others. Hwasa on the other hand gives the most variety with her vocals because she can belt huskily and display low sultry tones too, and as for my baby Moonbyul she to me has the most rhythmic flow when she raps and though she might not feel confident enough in her singing to display it as much as we like, I feel as though when she does let us hear her she always sings with a passionate and calming voice that personally soothes me to sleep (literally used the cover she just did to help me sleep last night) so in my own opinion my vocal rank is: 1. Mamamoo
Also just wanna mention how it blows my mind that Moonbyul can rap in slow ballads and still be smooth as fuck, like it's not easy but she makes it work and that just tickles my fancy. But I'll chill I'm done I promise lol
Wheein and Solar are really really really close vocally. But Wheein has less nasal and more consistency and control despite the fact they give her less parts. Wheein is number one and then Solar but the're very close and this sometimes changes depending on the performance I'm just talking about most of the time Wheein has better technique and doesn't strain her voice as much. So while Solar is strong, Wheein is making healthier choices for her voice making her a more skilled vocalist.
+Salimatou balde Solar and Wheein are the same. Hwasa is a little lower but also very good. I'm obviously nit picking because it's a vocal RANKING so if we said that they're all the same then there'd be no point + generally people don't sing exactly the same. Look up vocal analysis' of them and they'll explain it better and more professionally than I. :P
Catz1a Dude, I don'tread K-pop Vocal Analysis . I have been singing longer than them, I have singing for 16 years I know what I'm talking about me and K-pop vocal analysis comes with the same results.She has better lower register than Solar and the best techunquies. Wheein is still the strongest in the group. Which makes her the best. They are pretty much the same in terms of vocals.
I don't think there's even a point in ranking a group with vocals like this. It just stirs up arguments in the fandom, especially since they're all genuinely talented singers with strong skills.

my ranking: 1. wheein-very stable singing and good technique 2. solar-the best in high note and power but not as stable as wheein 3. hwasa-nice vocal tone (moonbyul not included since she's a rapper)
For me... 1. Solar (although her high notes can get a little annoying when I listen too many times back to back. LOL. Don't hate me for saying that.😅) 2. Wheein + Hwasa. They both have something that cannot be duplicated. 3. Moonbyul. Just because she doesn't sing much. But her base is serious sometimes. But together, they make a beautiful sound that is irreplaceable! 😘
Solar is the kind of voice that you would like to listen to when you are excited, her voice is really powerful and makes you feel so uplifted. Her high notes are no jokes. Wheein on the other hand has got to be the most calming voice you have ever heard. Her high notes are amazing and her falsetto is beautiful. Imo, she suits all kinds of genres. Hwasa, OH MY GOD, her voice in “fly the night away” (or smth, I forgot hehe) is the most sexiest thing I have heard. She has a really husky voice and she can execute high notes really good too. Moonbyul, ahh our main rapper who can most prolly out sing more than of the lead vocalists in the kpop industry. She’s really good for a rapper. They all have some incredible vocals so no need to compare them.
MAMAMOO the most talented and versatile group in kpop, these girls are the complete package of beauty, sexiness, and yeah the most important talent, her vocals are the best in kpop industry in now days. I hope they get more recognized around the world.
I agree with your ranking!! All Mamamoo's members can sing very well! Solar, Wheein and Hwasa can sing like a Main Vocalist and Moonbyul can sing like a Lead Vocalist! Mamamoo is the best vocal group ever!! I love this group so much!!!
I think Wheein has the best voice (even though they all have beautiful voices). She has the best control and has a pleasant voice to listen to. Solar is a vocal powerhouse, but lacks a bit in technique. I'd also like to note that "high notes" are not everything in singing. This is completely my opinion :). I love Mamamoo
My bias is Solar, but I think Hwasa's voice is the best. Also she can do it both perfectly, she can rap and sing like a goddess. Her voice is really awesome
+wenrene pp Hwasa's voice sounds really good when its like a Bossa Nova track eg words don't come easy or like a ballad like 50s song, her cover of orange coloured sky. She sounded so perfect in memory. her voice is more of a chill soul calming ish feel
1) Solar/Wheein (I think this ranking is based more off preference. I prefer Wheein's voice, but I think that they're pretty much on the same level) 2) Hwasa 3)Moonbyul (but holy Jesus she is by far my favourite kpop rapper)
For me: 1. Solar 2. Whasa 3. Wheein 4. Moonbyul. Solar has the highest notes, Whasa has a beautiful color of voice, Wheein has an awesome vibrato and Moonbyul is the rap queen. n_n
Solar's definitely first and Moonbyul's last. Whee in and Hwasa are the only two debatable. Personally, I think Whee in is more stable but Hwasa uses different aspects of her voice making it unique.
After listening to a few of their singing live...I think: 1. Solar - Power vocal. 2. Hwasa - She seems very versatile. I was touched by her immortal song singing. 3. Wheein - I like her soft voice. I like how she sings, reminds me of Boa. 4. Moonbyul - Wow, she's good at singing too.
YES SOLAR MY BAE! I love all of them and their vocals but if I'm gonna be honest with myself Solar has the best technique especially now if you watch her new moosical performance
If you watch carefully, Hwasa is always assigned deep notes Wheein is assigned melodies Solar is assigned not as many melodies as Wheein but is always given the power notes I think it's (from an overall vocal standpoint): 1. Hwasa -she has a unique voice -can sing low notes well (that is always the hardest) -has a great singing range + power notes 2. Wheein -has a great singing range + power notes -can sing low notes decently -above average voice 3. Solar -only used for power notes -not very good at low notes -incredibly shallow and generic voice Moonbyul is separate category Her voice is more suited for k-indie for something of the sort
Yea I agree :) Wheein has a more, slightly nasal voice (not in a negative for this connotation) which allows her voice to be more solid and stable, especially for low notes Solar can't really do low notes, her singing is too airy but on the contrary she can sing high notes the most dynamically (Wheein can sing belt notes as well)
No her singing "style" The fact that it can be sung in a versatile way actually supports that it's generic Generic is not a bad thing, it depends on a person's taste And there's still not doubt that Solar is talented at singing (mamamoo are talented BAES) Out of the group members she is the most popular in Korea because of that voice; light, shallow, and clean
Its really a tie for first between the three vocalist because its all a matter of preference really. Some people prefer Wheein's lead in vocals and how she can go from normal to head voice within the same breath or the power behind Solar belting them high notes. Others prefer the versatility that Hawsa's voice has and how she can sing very roughly or extremely soft and high. 1.hwasa-wheein-solar 2.moonbyul Nice video though, and its nice that you put in the description that it is only your opinion. ;) wouldn't want some haters going by and spamming your page.
I think they all have their own unique voice Solar: easy to reach high note Wheein: fresh and easy to reach high note too, but not as powerful as Solar Hwasa: sexy and powerful voice, but maybe she's still a little bit mumbling (?) Moonbyul: swag voice, but she's not confident enough to show her voice more :(

Only recently became a fan, but I think I like Hwasa's vocals the most. It's really, *really* hard to say though. 1. Hwasa 2.Solar & Wheein 3. Moonbyul Idk if ranking Moonbyul even makes sense though, I mean she's rapping anyways and she's sick as fuck

Inquisitve m That's pretty much how I feel. Oh and yes Moonbyul actually does quite a bit singing on stage, I didn't know this at that point. She's still not utilized as much though, especially in their singles. I didn't want to imply she sucked (nobody implied that).

Am I the only one who would put Moonbyul as first? idk, it's my reference tho. the reason is because i just love her type of voice. soulful, soothing and a jazzy type of feeling. the kind that would really suits in acoustic kind of music. i love them equally tho. i cant rank them; I CHOOSE ALL!!!
yeah i think i agree even though it's really difficult to choose who is best between solar and wheein but personally i love hwasa's singing the most like i genuinely can't handle the talent in this group
Solar's voice is powerful and she can hit highnote easily. But singing is not all about highnote. I think Wheein is better at vocal skill, her voice is so sweet and she can hit highnote too, just not powerful at Solar. Hwasa's voice sexy as fuck when she sing those lownotes, and she can rap too. Moonbyul, may be she not as good as others, but her rap is awesome. Compared to the others idols out there in Kpop she has good voice and can be main vocal in these group.
Its hard to rank Mamamoo in terms of vocals, because they're all so good. That's a great problem for a group to have. Not only do they sing great individually, they harmonize like they were born to be together..
Imo Hwasa should be considered on the same level as Solar or Wheein. She has incredible control of her voice, and has shown that she can hit high notes as well. Also I think she has the most unique voice, but I suppose that doesn't come into account here anyway? I also have a bias toward raspy/husky voices though. Anyway, if anything Wheein should be ahead of Solar. Solar has gotten better with time, but she still forces some of her high notes quite a bit. Wheein overall seems more stable for the most part. That said they're obviously all amazing.
This is my opinion (mostly based on their technique): 1. Wheein. She’s no doubt got the best technique. She’s the most stable and versatile, breath control on point, though I feel like she’s holding back during high notes (she’s probably insecure abt it), but she can hit it with no problem since she has wide vocal range. 2. Solar. She got powerful voice which is why she’s called the main vocalist and she got good breath control but sometimes can be a little bit messy during runs (you can see the difference between her and wheein in I miss you on queedom). Solar IS the powerhouse vocal though. She also got wide vocal range. 3. Hwasa 4. Moonbyul I don’t think I need to explain hwasa or moonbyul since the debate is mostly abt who’s first and second between wheein and solar
I think it's only necessary to comment on moon. She's my biased ...but for a rapper, she can sing well ^^. She's just overshadowed by her other members in the singing department so she's rarely given the lines to. :)
Hitting high notes does not equate to being the best vocalist. Although Solar is a powerhouse vocalist, I think Wheein is the best over-all. But If I have to point their positions in vocals based on every performance I've seen, then I would say: Solar: Main Vocalist ( because they give her the belty notes most of the time) Moonbyul: Vocalist ( since she's the rapper, but she has good deep voice also) Wheein: Main Vocalist ( best technique, and I believe she's the pillar of vocals in the group) Hwasa: Lead Vocalist ( she's great too. Her voice is husky, raspy, sexy, soft, etc. I like the texture of her voice.
i feel like hwasa and solar have the strongest vocals, and moonbyul and wheein have sweeter vocals, even though wheein can have quite a strong vocal at times. :) mamamoo ftw~
Solar has the highest vocal range, Wheein has the best and most stable singing techniques (I've seen some performances where Solar's voice cracks a little but she nailed it, anyways) , Hwasa has the most soulful voice and Byul has the best rhythm. All together they form great performances so the ranking would be: 1) Mamamoo
I rarely see a video ranking their vocals. For me all of them have great voices with different attacks that's why I love them, I couldn't decide on who has the best vocals among them, even hwasa whom is 3rd in this ranking was able to pull off a whistle in one of their performance on IS. Moonbyul is a rapper, she doesn't sing much, that's probably why we think she's least of a singer, but I've heard she can sing well too. Solar can hit the high notes very well, as well as Wheein too. they are just musical fairies that was pulled together and are purely talents with lots of energy. That's why I am a MOOMOO for 2 years and I still don't have any bias xD I love them all.
I don't want to have vocal rankings because they're all vocal (Byulie is rapper but still knows how to sing). But I respect your ranking :) Though for me its.. 1. Mamamoo :)
