I really like all the detail that you provide on the components on the PCBA, it's great to see someone who really knows the subject and provides a great perspective that we don't often get with other reviewers.
Just as FYI for the LEDs the four corners are only controlled by the button on the flight controller itself. The LED 5v GND next to the computer port will allow you to control the LEDs through BetaFlight
This looks much more user friendly than their F4 stack. I like the solder pads much more. The giant furyf3 diatone board was by far the easiest though.
Great FC. But in my stack which I just bought the info sheet has some wrong information. The 9V pin is marked as 5V and the 9V one as 5V (VTX). Luckily I needed 9V so my VTX just didn't power up first.
Good review. Question: does the RX power up from USB (for binding/testing)? Looks good, but I see a few problems. 1) Camera control. Free TX5/RX5 is on opposite side of the board (if using runcam), and no M5 exposed so you must give up LED if not using TX/RX cam control (foxeer, caddx, etc..) 2) No 3.3v output for Spektrum RX (don't know if anyone uses it anyway). 3) LED addressing works in series, so LED turn signals (if you want them) will not work. Also LED's can be pretty power hungry, if on the same 5v reg as the RX, this can be a bad thing.
How would one connect an I2c device, like a magnetometer or a barometer? I have this board and I'm currently stuck with little information available to help.
WOW ! Great now what to build, I can see building a 6s long distance quad. I can think of a long distance GPS system. So on , with all that and only$80 at this time. I wish it was payday.
I have the software 4.1.6 Mamba f722 i2c (stm32f7x2) can I upload 4.2.4 to Mamba f722_I2c? At present, I do not have dshoot 1200 but dshoot 600. I don't want to spoil something, or better leave it there
35v cap seems low spec for 6s. Historically Diatone boards have often had low system capacitance as delivered. That said, they, like Matek, continue to innovate. I use their $45 stacks.

Could you help me how to solder a r-xsr to this fc an get full telemetry? Ive done it with 3 wires: + - and the S-Bus for r-xsr to S-Bus of the FC - but then I get only RSSI and RXBatt as telemetry. I don't get Vbatt. What Ive done wrong? Do I need the S-port from r-xsr to TX2 of FC to get full telemetry? Thanks for your help.
I just ordered this stack and have a question. Do I power the flight controller from the battery? If so where on the board? Or does the flight controller get power from the cable that runs from the esc to the flight controller? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
My understanding is the esc acts as your pdb. Solder you’re battery cable to the spots on the esc. The cable will take care of the rest. If you go 6s, don’t forget to add the capacitor
Hi i finished my Bild yesterday an it flys great. The only thing that not works is the Bluetooth connetion. My phone find the mamba FC and i should Enter pin 0000 or 1234 but i get no connetion. Any idea what i should do? Best regards from Germany
@@MKST-CA Nice. Old and proven line. The FR line is also very nice. almost half the ESR, twice the life at high temps, better ripple current characteristics and is also cheaper if I remember correctly.
