People give Pierce a lot of flak for doing this movie. He never claimed to be the world's greatest singer, he was hired for his ACTING skills. I cannot imagine a better actor to play her main love interest. And I happen to LIKE his singing....
Murray Boyer Me too! I was actually sad when I just saw an interview where he said he doesn't sing a lot in the new one. And by the way - he makes fun of himself for not being the best singer 😉
I give big props to anyone that does their own singing in movies, that aren't professional singers. I am so tone deaf that it's just ridiculous myself, and I think he did just fine. 🤩
Was I the only one who sometimes found the extra’s expressions hilarious in this movie?!😂 Sometimes they look like they don’t even know what their supposed to do or are really confused.
Welcome to Hollywood lol. I was an extra as a marine In a small film and the director told us to act serious; so we did.. and when anyone who was/is military sees the finale cut they can see how uncomfortable we are because directors have a vision that doesn’t always agree with reality. (Anytime you see soldiers, ‘Marines etc) they have their hands behind their back when in all reality we just talk to each other like, ya know, people lol. In modern set war movies the only time the hand are all proper is indoors during awards/punishments.... watch any war movie set in modern day. It’s almost always wrong besides “The Outpost” that one was actually pretty true down to the vulgar language we all use
Yes Pierce may not be the best singer in the world, but boy that man sure can act! And hes so handsome! Talk about the picture perfect of silver Fox! Hes like a fine wine gets better with a text may smart and hes an incredibly gifted Actor! His came so far from plan aggressive, a brace of common perverted, killing machine secret agent to a charming, family oriented Tama loving, gentle kind of character. The guy is so diverse in his Acting!
Fun Fact: Pierce Brosnan had no idea what Mamma Mia was going to be about when he agreed (immediately) to Play in the film. If he only knew that he would end up singing ABBA song(s).
I really like Pierce Brosnan in this. He and Meryl Streep are great together in this. And their chaecters are still so much in love after all those years. And you can see that.
I was crying when I happen to see pierce brosnan crying when he was singing tis melancholy verses, OMG what an awesome screen play each and every scenes in tis movie is unique and a class of it's own, even though the song are from Abba the swedish pop music album of the seventies I hat's of to the entire team of mamma Mia, a amazing team work tis is what the success is about films

Ok I’ve always owned the DVD to this movie so I never bothered to come to RU-vid to watch the musical scenes but I’m surprised at how many people hate Pierce’s singing lol I’ve never thought it was bad at all! Maybe because I grew up watching this, but to each their own I guess haha
I absolutely LOVE a man who embraces his flaws!! Pierce Brosnan's singing, while imperfect, is made all the more poignant in this scene PRECISELY because he's not a Jon Bon Jovi or some other perfectly tuned hottie!! And in the other movie where he dons a speedo!! Unbelievable what that kind of self-deprecating, self-confidence does for a man's sexuality and magnetism!!! It's so rare and beautiful, when people fully embrace all of who they are!! Same with Streep!! Except in different ways. While she sings beautifully, she's not afraid of her age or looking imperfect, which somehow makes her MORE perfect!! If that makes sense. She gets silly and leans into it with such grace!! They both convey such AUTHENTICALLY IMPERFECT people, all of which makes them both an absolute JOY to watch!!!
Donnas face always gets me at 1:55 She’s like “oh no no no please not that move ... I tried to forget what we had, don’t come at it now!!” You can really see how her confidence wipes away and she’s back 20 years before
Where are those happy days? They seem so hard to find I try to reach for you But you have closed your mind Whatever happened to our love? I wish I understood It used to be so nice It used to be so good So when you're near me Darling can't you hear me? S.O.S The love you gave me Nothing else can save me S.O.S When you're gone How can I even try to go on? When you're gone Though I try, how can I carry on? DONNA: You seem so far away Though you are standing near You made me feel alive But something died I fear I really tried to make it out I wish I understood What happened to our love It used to be so good DONNA & SAM: So when you're near me Darling can't you hear me S.O.S The love you gave me Nothing else can save me S.O.S When you're gone How can even I try to go on? When you're gone Though I try, how can I carry on? So when you're near me Darling can't you hear me S.O.S And the love you gave me Nothing else can save me S.O.S When you're gone How can I even try to go on? When you're gone Though I try, how can I carry on? When you're gone How can I even try to go on?
jamesjordanvlogs 631 It's hard to believe if you are a teacher, or just trolling. i'm siding to the latter. and it's the internet, what do you expect? might as well just send this same spam message to half or more of the comments on this video.
Well the actors all went through vocal training before the musical. Pierce actually did quite a decent job here. Don't understand all those hate comments))
I watched and enjoyed watching Mama Mia several times with my granddaughters they even know the songs. Pierce Brosnam being James Bond is marvelous. He has got a good voice and a good actor too.
They are absolutely wonderful in this song. They perfectly managed to capture the desperation of both parties here. I still find myself preferring this version over the original ABBA version even though I love ABBA. This movie did far better than other musicals that only hired actors based on their singing skills. Pierce Brosnan should get more credit
Loved the movie..last movie I saw with someone special before they left. Singing may be off but for me it was always about the emotions, the sentiment they were expressing..wasn’t meant to be perfect but fun
I think we should all appreciate Brosnans singing in this film especially us guys because most of us can’t sing much better. Also I think he’s quite talented with singing.
Given the timeline his two "grown" children would be about same age as Sophie or likely younger. Cause he hadn't gotten his fiance/wife pregnant before meeting Donna it was after. Even if they got married and conceived as soon as he got back that would place the first son as being a few months younger than Sophie.
