Mammoth rock trail is a beautiful hike that spans the 2.6 miles between old mammoth road and sherwin creek road. You have beautiful vistas of the entire town of mammoth and valley around it. You pass by mammoth rock which is also nicknamed prayer rock, is a huge rock on the side of the mountain. The hike, if you start from old mammoth road is all down hill which makes it super family friendly. There is however no water on the hike in the form of lakes or rivers so keeping that in mind we give this hike an 8/10. Absolutely stunning views, easy hike, and super family friendly.
