Introducing briefly a puukko knife with stabilized and dyed mammoth bone handle and damascus blade. Hope you enjoy! Osmo Blade by Teemu Häkkilä, Finland / @thpuukot TH-Puukot Mammoth block from Russia www.thetopica.fi iMovie
Hi Osmo, I was just out in the bush snowshoeing. It was only -19 C so it was nice. I made a knife for a friend that used black cherry burl and antler for the sheath and walnut for the knife handle. He was a little overcome when I gave it to him unexpectedly. He owns a large bushlot that we use to snowshoe around. There's a lot of deer and coyotes, fisher cat and the trees are big. The snow is deep and fresh from a fall a few days ago. The snowshoeing is very hard work and I find it strange in my sixties that as a man in my twenties, I used to snowshoe all day, uphill and down for my work in forestry and geology. Now, I can do a mile or two and I'm too tired to go on. But these are the places where your knives belong, on the belts of men who venture out in the cold, talk over a campfire, pull each other out of the water when they go through the ice. Yes, you make beautiful knives and yet the true beauty for me is when they are used in everyday life, as an extension of our hands. I know when my knives are used by forest men like myself, their beauty is enhanced by the forest that surrounds the owners. Good work Osmo.
Hey Symon, you’re asking a lot 😄 -23C in this morning. What would you do outside except using sanding machine 😅 Let’s wait for the spring. I need a good photogpher! 👍🏻
