What I really like about Wolfgang is he isn't trying to be his father, he has worked hard to find his own style, and his own type of music, much respect Wolfgang, keep on rockin!!!
He is entirely riding his last name and even cribbing off the original van halen name. What he is is rich. If it weren't for his dad you would never ever know who he is .
I saw them early 90s in Sydney where Suicidal Tendencies opened for them. Lane jumped into the crowd and smacked out a dude after the dude spat on him, then got passed back on stage above everyone's heads. Good times😊.

I saw the Van Halen '.....Carnal Knowledge' Tour back in the early '90's which featured A.I.C as the opener. Ed spent more time in Alice In Chains camp behind the stage than with his band. Ed and Jerry Cantrell were very good friends. In fact, after that tour was over, Ed donated all of his gear that he used on that tour to Cantrell. One of which was a gold top Ernie Ball EVH model that eventually was stolen in the studio until it was recovered almost 30 years later by some researchers who tracked down that guitar in Florida and got it back for Jerry. Alice In Chains were at the peak of their game on that tour. That was one of the best lineups I'd seen ever.
I saw Alice In Chains open for Van Halen years ago in Portland, and at the end, Jerry Cantrell and Eddie were in jamming on some song. Very full circle to see Wolfie covering this👌
Jerry has OG 5150s given to him by EVH and tbh probably helped popularize them in non 80s shred circles. Probably the first guy not named Edward who I was aware of using them on the "major label" tier.
Thats one of my top 5 songs in rock history... verrrrrry well done and live performed... Very smooth and held within its lane.. Its easy to let a song like that get out from under you because it wants to show its teeth.. Controlling it makes a song like this so special.. Its not that easy..

His Dad beat me and my band's asses in the few BOB we played. One of the reasons I left LA to begin with. I took a chance, went North to the Washington State Line. And began learning to sing properly and following hot band's of the time. ZZTOP was my aim.... After years of trying to write and not finding any luck with all of the Clapton, Neil Young and folkies, I began teaching myself more involved music. It wasn't long ago I was playing "Lazy and Highway Star" with some friends... And I owe Eddie and VH a big thanks of gratitude. It taught me to make my own music. I have some tracks out..
Interesting. I saw AIC open for VH on the F.U.C.K. tour in Atlanta. Wolfie would have been a little kid, or maybe not born yet (over 30 years ago, Idk his age). He sounds awesome playing that tune!
I once said he wasn’t as good of a singer as Anthony. After listening to his music, I stand corrected, I take it back. I knew he could play, but I am still really blown away by his talent. Really great stuff! Thanks for the post.
You have to consider that Wolfie was only 15 when he stepped into Michael Anthony's shoes - his voice hadn't matured yet, and those harmonies are *hard!* 🤣🤣 Even though I would've loved to have seen the original VH band on that reunion tour, I'll admit Wolfgang did really well...
@@claudevieaul1465 I learned that recently. With no intent to stir the pot. It is a lot easier to sing with a lead singer that is killing it like Roth did in the 80s when I saw the band. Towards the end, for good and bad, Roth got pretty loose with his singing, which clearly would make it hard to back him up. May be a factor, I don't know. I am really excited to see what the band will do, I think the new record comes out it August.
What an amazing HUMBLE talent this man is! I’m beyond impressed with the virtuosity he casually puts out! ( though I’m sure he practices till his fingertips bleed)
such a tight band and they don't slop thru it they played it flawlessly guitars and vocals both and the solo is spot the F on with his own stylings mixed in. such a pro band. most of all they got swagger in the rock which seems to get easily overlooked...great work and finally i can't wait to hear the new album(2nd album)\\m//
