Fred Dibner was indeed a legend! I think both he and Gordon would be tickled with your end product. I worked as an inspector investigating industrial accidents for the Dept of Labour. During one such involving a failure on a window-cleaning suspended scaffold I watched a man rope himself up meticulously before going down the side of the building. When he’d finished I complimented him on his fastidious preparations. He replied: “I’m a qualified steeplejack and I’m $#*t-scared of heights!”
The Mamod looks smashing. Love the brass chimney ferrule. Hub conversion looks good too. Very sorry for your loss. Nice touch to name the engine Gordon.
