Cool story, same thing happened to me at the poles about 7 years ago. Dude sitting 10 feet from me, waiting on a set, I hear him say, "ouch! I think I was bit." I paddle over to check it out and sure enough, got a good bite on the calf. Need like 25 stiches. Saw him surfing a few days later, Yew!
