Bondi Rescue follows the work of the elite professional Lifeguards who patrol Australia’s busiest beach. This is Australia’s real life Baywatch! Taking the viewers on their journey through mass rescues, drownings, resuscitations, shark sightings, and all number of the weird and wonderful experiences Bondi Beach dishes up.

I was googling about the show and discovered the lifeguards aren't paid for the show! The creator says some BS about how it wouldn't be a documentary if they were paid. 😒 More like he's just banking 💰 off they're hard work... I'm surprised and saddened by that. It's a cool show and I really enjoy it (which is saying something as I'm generally into true crime type stuff). Wouldn't even be a show if it weren't for the lifeguards. Despicable imo that they aren't compensated esp considering the apparent success of the show.

Used to watch this show on the weekends when we visited our granny who had no internet. This show makes me so happy as she past just this summer so it remindes me a lot of her and the times we spent with her then. Thank yous for all the past and future memorys to come xox

I remember once when I was young, my Dad took me to a waterpark. When he’d had enough, he went to sit down and firmly told me to check in with him each time I finished a slide. As kids do, I did that for a few slides, then got caught up in the fun and forgot to check in. After a couple slides, he stormed over to the pool I was in, yanked me out, and told me to get dressed, we were going home. I protested and apologized, but he remained firm. For a long time I thought he was being mean and paranoid. After watching this show, I understand why he wanted me to check in. Bondi Rescue has taught me a lot.

If you watch the shark cam at bondi, you'll realise that sharks pass people all the time and aren't bothered at all. The ocean is lovely as long you take a few precautions.

I'm 67yrs old and had many misshap's growing up . The one that has stayed with me most just like it happened yesterday was a near drowning that I had in Canada's Lake Erie. I was in water up to my waist when the undertow pulled me away from my father . If he had been on the beach I would have died . There were no signs to warn the swimmers in the area.

Swimming at Bondi has been on my bucket list since I saw this show a few years ago. I’ll definitely be going in with a life vest though! I’ll probably bring an extra or two just on the off chance I see someone in trouble close enough to throw one to them. It really surprises me that not many people seem to have them here

So I'm watching this first rescue, and the narrator says the guy is Terry Smith. I'm Terry Smith, but I swim like a fish. I've been swimming off Hawaii, Guam, San Diego, La Jolla, Baja, and the Mediterranean. I've never needed a rescue, but I am sincerely grateful that professional lifeguards exist.

If anyone knows the answer to my question, I would appreciate it. If in trouble in a rip tide, I know you're supposed to swim parallel to the shore. But, if you float on your back, is it easier to save yourself from drowning?

Terry was first rescue I've seen were someone isn't laughing just after been saved and realised how close death was if lifeguards weren't there. Backpackers area needs to be shut down permanently to swimmers and tourists. Only people allowed out should be competent surfers or waterman that understand ocean and its dangers.
