Hear me out. If you can legally drive at say, .04 or even .07 (technically can get a DUI in many US states under .08 if you show signs of impairment), what's wrong with swapping out a soda or water for a beer if you never go over .02? Seems stupid to me. Sure, some people will abuse it and drive drunk... but wouldn't they anyway?
What a legend. Pulled over for acting weird. Clearly off his rocks on stimulants, but told them he was drinking. knew he'd pass the breathalyser, so they couldn't arrest him. Saved a night in a cell, car being towed, prosecution, record, hefty fine, losing licence.
@@ahernnelson2756depends on how long you didn't sleep tho, after few days of no sleep beeing high on amphetamines, the hallucinations of all sorts starts and can impair you quite a bit. Ofc if the sleep is at least close to normal, your statement is correct.

I used to have a really bad drinking problem. I almost always drove drunk, never pulled over, the one time I wasn't drunk (just 1 beer. Literally just a beer like 5 hours prior to the stop) I got pulled over for DUI. Basically, I was on a country backroad late at night in a college town. I was from out-of-town visiting a girl, didn't know the roads and it was so dark, I could honestly hardly see the road. So I was all over the road. The cop said I was driving extremely erratically. When he asked if I had anything to drink, I was gonna say 1 beer.. but decided to just say no. Because I really wasn't drunk. I just wasn't used to the roads. Cop pulls me out, I do the field sobriety and breathalyzer, blow triples zeros and I was on my way. He asked me if I smoked weed or something, he was stumped. I was too. Had he caught me any other time, I would've been absolutely hammered and would've went to jail. But not that night. Never been so damn lucky in my life. Almost a year sober now.
It is hilarious that a police officer doesn´t know that when someone is on a stimulant (he was clearly on cocaine, meth or similar) he doesn´t lose his physical abilities, so he won´t be caught by making him perform ridiculously easy tests.

I know the driver in this clip. He was on the stimulant modafinil (Provigil). Even if police had a drug test kit on hand he still would have tested negative.

LOL, he was probably on some sort of stim (meth, speed or coke). Sweaty with stim-eyes. The officers' balance tests weren't going to catch that, if anything you're way more alert and probably more likely to pass those types of test when on a stimulant than absolutely sober.
The meth on the other hand had this man tweeked out. The cop just wasn't experienced enough to understand the signs he was seeing, but he clearly saw something was off.

In the Netherlands it isn't illegal to drink while driving you might get some looks but as long if you are under the limit it is no problem. Same for Belgium

I’ve had the same experience before, got pulled over on a fast food run in college and blew .000 twice. The officer was baffled and lectured me for 20 minutes before letting me go on a warning. Went back to the party with Dairy Queen in hand and did a keg stand to celebrate lol

@bilbo bagginses The ability of these fixtures to trap alcohol in the mouth can cause a falsely ELEVATED reading that will be used to wrongly convict a driver for having a breath alcohol reading (BAC) over the legal limit. not the other way around.

@@Nasher1805 Even too much water can kill someone, so if he drank enough anything he’d likely die. I am curious about the “not absorbing” thing. Does it just not effect his gaba receptors? Does the liver process it too quickly? Blood tests show it but no impairment? It’s got to go out through the kidneys unless he is pooping straight liquor one would think. Interesting either way. I had a friend with a similar condition where opioids would not work on him, both a blessing and a curse.

I have a friend with this condition; and not only can he not get drunk, he’s also largely unaffected by pain killers, tear gas, and probably anything else you can think of. His liver and kidneys pay dearly for it, however, so he avoids those substances whenever he can.
