On August 21, 2022, a 26-year-old man lead law enforcement on a 28-mile-long chase across Fond du Lac County in Wisconsin. Several tire deflation devices were deployed but were ineffective. The suspect driver displayed very erratic driving behavior throughout the pursuit and reached speeds of 130 mph. Eventually, they began driving into oncoming traffic nearly striking multiple vehicles head-on.
The purpose of the featured content is to show the law enforcement interaction. It is NOT to publicly shame, ridicule, or degrade the individuals involved. Today’s world is swarmed with politics and conversations that are often misleading about our law enforcement officers. We feel it is vastly significant and imperative to show these interactions in their respective environments to inform and educate the overall public.

Those SUV patrol units are nowhere as quick or fast as the 1994 - 1996 Caprice 9C1 which had the same LT-1 engine as the rear wheel drive 1996 Impala SS. Those cars were capable of a 158 mph top speed. I know this as a matter of fact. Since I once topped mine out at 158 mph.

Its not THAT bad. I once was driving near Bellingham Wa when 4 high school chearleaders came around a curve in my lane, over the double yellow line, tryng to pass a line of dump trucks over 60mph each. As we passed each other, only INCHES apart, the rear passengers were crawling over their seats to take the wheel. The driver was frozen shitless, white knuckle clutching the wheel going straight. Time slowed down for those passengers who were screaming at the driver. They looked at me while I smiled back. They passed the dump trucks and returned to the right lane. Bet they learned their lesson what double yellow lines mean and why they are not just a "suggestion".

We got the guys tags and eventually had to stop the chase. That cop handled it way better than my dad. My old man was squirming all over the place as speeds increased. Just found this channel a few hours ago and been binge watching the videos. Really enjoying them so far. I’ve had a few negative experiences with officers but, for the most part, they give as much respect as is given to them. I’ve noticed that most of the officers in these videos still stay respectful even when being screamed at, ran from and spit on. I’m not ignorant to the fact that there are really bad and crooked officers out there but I’m glad there’s a channel like this that highlights the good ones. Just talking about my, personal, experiences but even when I’ve done nothing wrong other than driving in the wrong neighborhood at the wrong time, things go much smoother when I do what the officers ask and deal with the unfair treatment at the right time and in a respectful manner. Not just respectful to the officers but respectful to myself and not make things worse by acting like a fool.

Generally a key indicator that someone is having a medical emergency as opposed to being under the influence while driving on a road is this: Usually when someone is drunk/high, there tend to swerve side to side, and slam on the brakes when they realize they are slipping out of the lane Meanwhile, if someone was having a seizure or another emergency, they would have the steering column moving erratically, but no brakes would be in use as the driver would not be conscious enough to use them. This is not 100% tho, but it is a common occurrence

I think many, if not most, fleeing drivers end up with very high adrenaline levels triggering the “fight or flight” response. In that mindset, they can’t think with the same logic that people normally are able to use. They are much more likely to take risks because they think that they have to in order to survive. This does not excuse the behavior one bit! But it does explain why suspects take risks that they might not normally do. The police were very well trained to make sure that this did not happen to them.

Some departments will want the officer to collect the stop sticks immediately regardless of whether or not the deployment is successful. Others will allow the officer that deployed the sticks to continue the pursuit, but radio where they left the sticks so another officer can pick them up. Typically they'll throw them off to the side of the road or in the ditch and another nearby officer will get them. If an officer has a successful deployment, they'll usually stay behind and collect them as it's only a matter of time before the suspect's vehicle becomes completely disabled. If the deployment is unsuccessful, the officer may leave them for another to collect as they want to get back into the chase as quickly as possible.

I remember changing hands with the gun as I wiped the sweat from my palms as I prepared for the dangerous situation. On some other videos the police commenter said that one of the things criminals often come up with when they are being cuffed and they know the game is up is I can't breath. Most times it is a big act. But if you have a crash at 100 mph you could also go into shock. This guy was checked out in the best and most respectful way. I think it was a miracle that his injuries were so light. I appreciate how the police officers always take pictures of any wounds recieved and they make sure the emergency rescue units check out the injured whether they are police officers or the accused. They really cover all bases. Well done guys.

Like that was a LONG time of being that worked up, plus water was like the only thing he was asking for which isn't normal for that kinda thing usually, at least not early. I'm sure he was eating dope during the drive or just slammed/smoked a whole whack of crystal before the drive. I mean, uppers are a weird one for DUI cuz people do similar things to what this guy did, especially with IV/heavy use. Not quite like alcohol where people usually drive slow but all over the road or something. Just my experience (recovering addict and work in social work/mental health recovery)

UPDATE: The 26 year old man charged in connection with the chase is facing multiples felonies. He is Tyler E. Glass, who has a current address in Oshkosh. It was the third felony incident involving Glass in two months. He was charged in June in Winnebago County with felony substantial battery causing bodily harm. He was released on a signature bond. Glass was arrested and charged August 12, also in Winnebago County, with felony narcotics possession and with bail jumping for violating the terms of his June bail. But Winnebago County authorities released him again on a signature bond (meaning he didn’t have to put up any cash). Nine days later, Glass allegedly led authorities on the chase throughout Fond du Lac County in which he got away from officers who were chasing at 130 miles per hour. He was eventually arrested after wrecking his car. Fond du Lac County Judge Tricia Walker, a Tony Evers appointee, set cash bail at $30,000. Glass posted that amount three weeks ago and is free again. Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney, the GOP candidate for attorney general, tells me his assistant asked for a higher cash bail of $50,000 but that the Evers-appointed judge lowered the amount. Toney tells me he will now ask Winnebago County authorities to retroactively raise their bail on Glass given his new crimes. Prior to his alleged 2022 crime spree, Glass served prison time for a 2019 Fond du Lac County vehicle theft felony. DA Toney said he didn’t believe it would do any good to ask Judge Walker to set higher bail. Glass’ trial date in the Fond du Lac County case is early next year as are his dates for the Winnebago County cases. In the meantime, he’s free. The issue of violent felons being released repeatedly on bail to commit new crimes has become one of the biggest issues in the Wisconsin elections for governor and US Senate.
