Just sayin’ but if you want to attract large animals, you should move to the countryside and buy a large parcel of land. I kinda agree with the Lyme disease reason for not attracting deer to the neighborhood. The lady and her husband should’ve been sensitive to the health of their neighbors. Before anyone jumps in and says the reaction of the neighbor was unjustified. I agree with you.

Hi! Indeed, the country is full of wildlife. My dear Mom came face to face (almost nose to nose!) with a large black bear that was napping under our deck over the summer. He grunted at her and she slowly backed away and ran into the house. Having spent a large part of my life in rural areas, and not hearing much at all about Lyme disease cases, I really don’t worry about it. We just check ourselves carefully for any ticks. But for people who maybe aren’t comfortable around wildlife, I can understand why they’d feel the way they do about it. Take care!

Had Neil called the police and then gone out the front door with the shotgun and not pointed it but told his wife to come inside, he might have had a defense claiming that he thought Todd was reaching for a gun! The moment he snuck out a window and hid in the shadows at the corner of his house he screwed up! The only reason to do things the way he did was for the element of surprise, he wanted to remain unseen to get lined up for a shot! I think he snapped and felt like he was being punished with the restraining order and his beef with the neighbor was now affecting his wife and kids. He knew when he climbed out the window that he was going to put an end to the situation once and for all!

I’m not being ugly, just pointing out that maybe outdoor type groups should be more attentive to how they are dressed and prepared with preventative tick and insect repellents, or 0:05 maybe look closer to home. This does come from someone diagnosed but untreated in time with RMSF (during high Covid lab activity) . Ticks can tend hang around on trees, grasses, living things or inanimate. No, deer are deer. A mammal. Mice are rodents. When man hunted for food and skins for clothes and shelter, deer were a great survival source. Respect the deer whos lives and very existence, gave your ancestors a reason to survive and procreate. You.

yeah, it's quite impressive. the good doctor was able to take three different images and combined them into one. it's too complex to explain the lengthy process of the three image combo here, but maybe he'll do it in a separate "short". he'll probably have enough time left to do his taxes.

Yes deer look cute to feed and watch but actually they can cause big problems such as eat all the vegetables and flowers you plant and bushes if it’s a drought season. Also, they do carry ticks, so it is a realistic concern, and they easily overpopulate in some places specially if they have enough food. What time I put flowers on a relative graveyard and I looked back before I was leaving in my car and I saw deer eating the flowers.

And wolves will not move into a suburb of Minneapolis. We have a *major* deer problem here in Youngstown Ohio because our deer population in our large metro park is way out of control. The deer are out of the park and living in the neighborhoods (I see them in my yard regularly and they eat my hosta) because they have no predators here. I *wish* some wolves or coyotes would move in but they won't, that's why we have this problem.

I used to have a neighbor who hated that we fed deer. In particular, we were rehabilitating some very badly injured deer. The neighbor called the cops on us. Every time he saw the deer in our yard. Sometimes it would be three in the morning and every single time, the cop said it’s their property and they can do what they want. The neighbor made us miserable, until he finally gave up. We were extremely afraid of him, but the deer were rehabilitated and moved on. However, he was on our ass about them until we moved for other reasons.

It's interesting how things can get so heated between neighbors. Then it turned into a pissing match between the men. It escalated to the point of a murder. Once you're that angry, the emotions take over and you legitimize in your own mind, that taking the law into your own hands is worth it. After you cool off and get sentenced to life in prison, you see the result of your emotional thinking. Probably even wonder how you'd ever justified what you did as okay! I've lived in my neighborhood for 32 years and there have been several riffs between neighbors over that time. Both parties usually see things from only their perspective, so nothing really changes. In my case, I've tried to resolve differences with my neighbor, but it usually doesn't change how he feels about it. At that point, I've chosen to drop the pursual of my opinion. I recognize that I've stated how I feel - regardless of the outcome. So in my mind, it's a no win situation. I don't take it as if I've given into their opinion, but rather that we're at a stalemate. It boils down to feeling that you tried and nothing changed. But if you continue pushing the issue, you are then part of exacerbating the situation which will not have a good ending. Unfortunately, too many people think "it's my way or the highway" so they can't see that there are two sides to the argument and continuing it won't change a thing. We need to change our attitude about differences. Our country is very divided over many opposite views/issues. It's not a healthy mindset and it's caused a lot of unnecessary division. There's truth in the saying, "Divide and conquer". Once divisiveness becomes the #1 outcome, there's nothing good that comes from that way of thinking. ---Done with rant---
