I can definitely agree with you on this mans demeanour that allowed for him to keep his cool when suddenly faced with a black bear that likely weighed twice what he does. The only thing that made me really worried for him was his tone of voice and his volume level. To me, he sounded like he was scolding a child, and the first survival Rule for someone in exactly his situation that is facing a bear is that people need to either scream OR yell at the top of their lungs to really get the bears attention & fearful enough to want to run away. Even better if someone can grab something in each hand that makes a loud sound when banging them together. He was incredibly luckily to be next to his car with his keys at hand. I thought that bear was also rather clever when it dropped it's head down looking as if it were trying to see his feet from under the car. Didn't it look like that to you? That's one smart bear, if that's exactly what it was it was doing.

Well, the man went slowly back to his car to blow the horn, isn't that Loud enough to scare it away? I think the bear was looking for food when it bent down to smell

@@Julia-uh4li I saw the bear lower it's head but I don't think that it was checking the man's distance, I thought that it was smelling the man's scent. He may have been previously injured, and had a small cut, it was checking the testosterone level. Thank you for your input and kind comment. Hope your days in Autumn are fantastic! 🍁

We were tucked in our tent and a bear was peeing on it. He then proceeded to try and raid a cooler. He took something when we chased him off. Turned out to be our coffee. Bear didn't like coffee and left left it about 50 ft from camp. 😂 PS This was in the middle of the day. Cheeky bear.

I once had a huge bear standing directly over me drooling on me and sniffing me while I was in my sleeping bag, by the fire that had all but died out. My brother was on the other side of the fire pit and we were just staring at each other trying not to even breathe. As soon as it got far enough away from us we jumped in my truck. I haven't primitive camped since.

There's other videos out of this amazing incident, showing the cub. I was wondering, would it have caused the bear to attack (since she had cubs) if he had fake charged? You know, made himself bigger and yelled etc.

Nothing but itself. The open garage was like a cave or small canyon with no way out but the door. He was in the door, so a young bear feels trapped. Going around the car and getting in was good instinct. If it was an old and hungry/desperate foraging beat, he'd have attacked. Like in bar fights, young and strong should fear old and treacherous.

It had a cub with it. You can see it run out of the garage in the car's reflection.

there is a little bear reflected in the car, clearly a momma and her cub. dude is fucking lucky it was a black bear. most momma bears would be a lot more violent about that.
